Very competent,commucative (he always know how to make paPrecisionssenger smile through interphone even during difficult moment) and a very good team player .. the sky will always misses you skipper!!

Coronavirus Claims The Life of a Senior Kenya Airways Captain Who Led the Final Rescue Flight From US to Kenya.

Captain Daudi Kimuyu Kibati died on Wednesday, just a few days after testing positive for COVID-19 and less than 2 weeks after operating the airline's last flight from New York City.

Captain Kibati's final operational duty was a rescue flight to bring back Kenyans stranded in the US before Kenya banned international flights in an effort to contain the spread of Coronavirus. Kenyans stuck in the US were offered a free one-way ticket on the Boeing 787 flight.

After returning from NYC, the epicenter of the US Coronavirus outbreak, Kibati was in quarantine at a local hotel. During this short time, he fell ill and died just days after it was confirmed he had COVID-19.

He was 61-years-old.
