We are having another amazing week here, with our Global Neurosurgery course in full swing. After several days of engaging lectures, Q&As, and panel discussions, we moved into the OR. This year we are able to demonstrate procedures on advanced training models, then have local surgeons work on the models to get hands-on experience before moving into the OR. This is a fantastic course each year, and it just gets better and better each time! Here are some photos, taken by my son Julian, to give you a glimpse into our week. I can't wait to get home and provide a full report! -Roger Hartl

Roger Härtl, MD, director of neurosurgery spine for New York City-based Weill Cornell Medicine, has performed the first spine case using 3D navigation in sub-Saharan Africa

Dr. Roger Härtl and Dr. Japhet Ngerageza reunited during the 2023 neurotrauma course. Dr. Ngerageza spent a year training with Dr. Härtl at Weill Cornell Medicine nearly a decade ago and has been providing neurosurgical care to patients in Tanzania since his return.
