technical planning meeting for the BRIDGE Project (Building Resilient Institutions for Development in Global Health Education) was held on 2 April 2026 at the TTCIH Boardroom. The meeting convened members of the rural (Ifakara) hub team from TTCIH and SFUCHAS. Its purpose was to operationalize the agreements reached during the kickoff meeting, with discussions focusing on the management, coordination, and organization of the hub, as well as planning for the implementation of project activities.

Tanzanian Training Centre for International Health (TTCIH), in collaboration with local partners St. Francis University College of Health and Allied Sciences (SFUCHAS) and Kairuki University (KU) and European partners, namely the University of Bologna (UNIBO), the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA), and the Research Innovation and Development Lab (ReadLab), successfully conducted the kick-off meeting for the BRIDGE Project (Building Resilient Institutions for Development in Global Health Education).

meeting took place on March 18–19, 2026, at King Jada Hotel in Dar es Salaam, and aimed to establish a shared understanding of the project’s objectives, structure, roles and responsibilities, implementation strategies, as well as its anticipated impact and sustainability mechanisms.

event brought together key project partners and invited stakeholders, including representatives from the European Union Delegation to Tanzania, the Erasmus+ National Focal Point at the Ministry of Education, and the Ministry of Health (MoH).

BRIDGE Project will establish global health hubs in Ifakara (rural) and Dar es Salaam (urban), and deliver Continuing Professional Development (CPD) courses and summer schools through a blended learning approach.

Project Seeks to:
* Improve access to high-quality professional training;
* Strengthen the competencies of health professionals;
* Promote evidence-based healthcare practices; and
* Support the resilience of Tanzania’s health system.

Launching the BRIDGE Project—Building Resilient Institutions for Development in Global Health Education. The EU-funded, 3-year initiative brings together the Tanzanian Training Centre for International Health (TTCIH), St. Francis University of College of Health and Allied Sciences (SFUCHAS), Kairuki University (KU), University of Bologna (UNIBO), National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA), and ReadLab PC to strengthen medical education in Tanzania. The pre-inception meeting was held on 14 January 2026 at TTCIH in Ifakara, with participation from TTCIH, SFUCHAS, and UNIBO.
