A forest beekeeper can climb up to 50 feet up a tree to lower down the hive to retrieve the honey. That’s a long way down!

The Amber variety has a full and fruity flavor. When the rains start in October and November the Malagarasi river picks up stream and the first forest flowers of the season begin to bloom. When this honey is harvested in December and January, the river is in full flow. Our beekeepers use push bikes to navigate the forest paths to harvest this wild honey.
