ABSTRACT HIGHLIGHTS

We are excited to share key highlights from the abstract presentations at the 12th Tanzania Health Summit 2025, showcasing impactful research driving evidence-based improvements in our health sector.

This year’s presentations offered powerful insights, including the need to strengthen public awareness campaigns on hypertension prevention, as revealed in the assessment of dietary and physical activity influences. Another study emphasized how mentorship programs and structured follow-ups can significantly support healthcare providers in effectively prescribing physical activity within clinical practice.

Research on improving access to accurate thyroid diagnostics underscored the importance of consistent laboratory support from government and development partners, alongside increased public awareness to ensure timely diagnosis and care. Meanwhile, findings from the evaluation of SeamossPlus in managing non-communicable diseases showed notable improvements in blood pressure and type 2 diabetes control, paired with recommendations to ensure ethical clearance in future research.

These contributions reflect the dedication of our health professionals and researchers to advancing knowledge, improving service delivery, and strengthening health outcomes across Tanzania. We look forward to continued collaboration and innovation inspired by this year’s Summit.
