We are proud to recognize Qualitas Hospital for successfully attaining SafeCare Level IV, a significant milestone in its quality improvement journey.

Through a rigorous assessment process under the SafeCare standards, Qualitas Hospital was evaluated across 13 service elements, covering both clinical and non-clinical domains — including patient safety, infection prevention and control, governance, leadership, human resources, and service delivery systems. This comprehensive approach ensures that quality is embedded throughout the entire organization.

Achieving Level IV reflects the hospital’s strong systems, structured processes, and measurable commitment to delivering safe, effective, and patient-centered care.

Following the assessment, Qualitas Hospital has received a tailored Quality Improvement Plan to guide its continued progress toward SafeCare Level V, the highest level of performance within the SafeCare framework. This demonstrates not only achievement, but also a clear commitment to continuous improvement and excellence.

We extend our sincere congratulations to the management and staff of Qualitas Hospital. Your dedication to strengthening patient and staff safety, enhancing service delivery, and ensuring institutional sustainability is commendable.

Let us continue working together to advance quality, safety, and sustainable healthcare for all.

Across many healthcare facilities, key domains such as risk management, governance, and human resource management remain among the most challenging areas to strengthen. These components are foundational to patient safety, accountability, and sustainable service delivery yet they are often the areas where gaps are most evident.

To address these challenges, access to real-time, actionable data is essential. Facilities must be able to measure performance, identify risks, prioritize interventions, and monitor progress in order to ensure continuous quality improvement.

The SafeCare program provides a structured, internationally benchmarked framework that enables healthcare facilities to:
✔️ Conduct comprehensive quality assessments
✔️ Generate objective performance data across clinical and management standards
✔️ Identify priority areas for improvement
✔️ Develop and implement targeted Quality Improvement Plans
✔️ Track measurable progress over time

By leveraging evidence-based standards and performance scoring, SafeCare empowers facilities to make informed decisions that enhance patient safety, operational efficiency, and long-term sustainability.
Quality improvement is not a one-time achievement it is a continuous journey driven by data, leadership commitment, and system strengthening.

THS Team is pleased to begin the year with strong support from the SafeCare team, ensuring that all SafeCare activities are implemented in line with established standards, while safeguarding the integrity of the SafeCare brand.
Most importantly, this collaboration strengthens the sustainability of the SafeCare programme in Tanzania and beyond.

We had the privilege of hosting the SafeCare teams from Amsterdam and Tanzania for strategic discussions focused on business development and programme growth.

Looking ahead, we are optimistic that this year SafeCare will continue to expand its reach by enrolling more healthcare facilities and strengthening their engagement within the programme.

SafeCare is a collaborative initiative, and success within SafeCare is never achieved in isolation. The local team in Tanzania provides strong operational support, complemented by continuous technical and strategic input from the Netherlands team.

We had the privilege of hosting Ms. Daniella Vento, Business Development Manager at SafeCare, and Dr. Helga Mutasingwa from PharmAccess for an in-depth strategic discussion on the development and future direction of the SafeCare programme.

During the engagement, we reflected on how Tanzania Health Summit (THS) has championed the SafeCare agenda over the past year reviewing key achievements, challenges, and emerging opportunities. Looking ahead to 2026, substantial plans are in place to further strengthen the quality of healthcare delivery across Tanzanian health facilities.

To date, Tanzania Health Summit has physically engaged with over 80 healthcare facilities through the SafeCare programme.
These efforts have already demonstrated measurable and meaningful impact, reinforcing THS’s commitment to improving healthcare outcomes for Tanzanians through the implementation of SafeCare quality standards.

Over the past 3days THS conducted a comprehensive quality assessment at Qualitas Hospital, Kigamboni.
We walked through the entire facility, reviewed infrastructure, equipment, clinical services and governance systems, and assessed key components from management to frontline departments.
It was a rewarding experience working with a team that is open, engaged, and committed to delivering safe, high-quality health services to the community.

As we look toward a one year quality support partnership, we will establish regular intervals for mentorship, performance reviews, capacity strengthening and quality assurance checks to ensure continuous improvement and sustainable impact.
This approach will help embed safe care practices, strengthen clinical governance, and advance patient centered services for all who seek care.

Qualitas Hospital is a specialized facility dedicated to providing quality treatment and compassionate care. If you need reliable and professional health services, this is a place you can trust.
