Today I had the opportunity to reconnect with my colleagues during our training on dental implantology conducted at Smiles dental clinic in Dar es salaam by Pan dental surgery in partnership with Smiles dental clinic. We had exciting moments while receiving new technology in the dental fraternity that will improve quality of care for our patients.

I am thrilled to share that I had the opportunity to present in the 40th Tanzania Dental Association Annual General Meeting and Scientific Conference held in Dodoma about the implementation of the oral health project in Misungwi DC. The presentation showed case all activities implemented including; oral health screening in primary schools and community, oral health curative and preventive care including; teeth filling, root canal, teeth extractions and fabrication of removable partial dentures. Over 300 oral health professionals attended the meeting and through this presentation they were informed that over 4,000 people have benefited from the project and 726 received removal partial dentures.
This project is implemented by THEDI in partnership with Bridge2Aid and Colgate Palmolive Tanzania.
The future plan is to scale up this oral health intervention to all six rural districts of the Mwanza region.
We call up on other partners to join the undergoing THEDI/B2A efforts to reach more underserved populations with quality and equitable dental services.
