A massive thank you to two incredible volunteers Chloe and Maria from who brightened our day with their wonderful donations! They surprised us with food, some cool new shirts, and the absolute highlight – a fantastic new swing! The kids were so excited and couldn't wait to try out the new swing 🙏🏼

Celebrating Swahili Culture in Cologne! 🙌🏼
What an incredible day we had yesterday at the International Swahili Day in Cologne!
We were so happy to be part of this vibrant celebration.
The day was filled with inspiring performances from talented musicians and acrobats, delicious food, and an all-around fantastic atmosphere. A huge thank you to .v for organizing such a wonderful event and for bringing people together to enjoy Swahili culture.
We truly appreciate the opportunity we had to participate, meet some inspiring individuals, and share our ideas for supporting youth and children with disabilities in Arusha.

Today we started our new home based therapy program. We spent time with amazing kids like 6-year-old Eliudi, a bright and energetic boy with autism, and sweet 3-year-old Uwela. Watching them thrive in their own familiar environment truly highlights the benefits of bringing therapy directly to their doorstep.

💔 Meet Sabrina.
Her exact age is unknown, but her story is heartbreaking. For several years, Sabrina was confined to a room by a family member due to shame and a lack of understanding.
Tragically, Sabrina is now showing signs of hospitalism, including rocking her upper body back and forth.
Her situation powerfully highlights the critical importance of awareness and education surrounding mental health and disability. Shame and ignorance can have devastating consequences.
Let's break the silence and work towards a more informed and compassionate society where no one suffers in isolation.

The Mountain of Joy Foundation team had a wonderful time at Veta Oljoro, connecting with trainees and raising awareness about disabilities. As Autism Awareness Month continues, we're thrilled to be hosting a two-day session here. Day one will focus on autism, followed by a day dedicated to sensory integration.
We're so happy to be sharing this important knowledge!

On friday we celebrated the world autism day at the mountain of joy foundation. 🧩
We wanted to use this day to spread awareness about autism and to end up with some stigma.
All the kids were really happy and excited to celebrate together with the parents and neighbours and guests. 🥳
In a presentation we informed about autism.
We did some dancing and singing and enjoyed being together. 🤩
We want to use the chance to thank the and center for making this event possible.

Mountain of joy Foundation with other stake holders Jaffary Academy, Joshua Foundation and lion Club they did a meeting with the Head of the department of governmental special Education School in Arusha city to discuss and finalize the agenda of World Autism Day on 4 April 2025. 💜We are very happy and proud that the event will take place at the .
We will use this event to spare awareness about autism and give parents the chance to get to know each other and build a community. 🤓
The event will shine with a lot of music and talents from the kids with disabilities 🥳

Today, the amazing kids at Mountain of Joy Foundation took a step towards a cleaner and healthier environment!. With teamwork and dedication, they cleaned up their surroundings, proving that ability matters more than disability. 💪🏽

"As we prepare for World Autism Awareness Month on April 2nd, Mountain of Joy Foundation, in partnership with Jaffery Academy Special Needs Department, has taken the first step in planning a meaningful celebration. Today, MJF staff visited Jaffery Academy’s Special Needs Department, where we had the opportunity to tour their space, witness the amazing work their kids do, and receive thoughtful handmade gifts from them. Jaffery Academy shares the same vision as MJF, fostering inclusivity and support for children with special needs. We look forward to our second meeting, which will take place at MJF, to further discuss and finalize our plans for this special day. Together, we make a difference!

The sewing machine youth program 🪡
One of our main goals is to teach life skills to our youth.
One of our programmes is the sewing machine program
At the moment 5 youth are taking part in the program.
Our youth coordinator is showing the youth on three sewing machines how to operate the sewing machine.
The youth attend the program three times a week so they learn step by step. 🤓
We use the sewing machine to repair the clothes of our youth and the clothes of the community around the project so we can generate an income.🪡🎽
Furthermore the youth use the sewing machine to create bags etc that we can sell 🧶
