I mean, just LOOK at that molten cheese!! ^And then there was the main event: Sundae Sessions! Sundae Sessions runs from 10:30am-3:30pm every Saturday and Sunday, and guests can have bottomless ice-cream and toppings for 60-minutes! We loved the treasure trove of ice cream goodness and table heaving with toppings for us to choose from.

For our mains I chose the Smoked Bacon Hash & Poached Eggs, while Christopher chose the Dirty-Double Cheeseburger with Philadelphia, Gorgonzola, and Pickled Onion. He wouldn’t stop raving about how amazing the burger was, and it did look pretty epic! You’ll have to excuse the lighting on the photos of my Smoked bacon hash – for some reason it suddenly went really yellow/orange JUST when taking photos of that particular dish, and no amount of editing could sort it!

The bar is classy and sophisticated with indoor seating, and an outdoor seating area which has views over Bangkok. Both times I went it was busy with both guests of the hotel and locals and tourists. As Sky Bar is a very crowded standing-only bar, Distil is the place to go if you want a drink in a quieter and more relaxed atmosphere without compromising on the quality and view of Sky Bar. The prices of the cocktail are akin to London prices – around 600baht (£11) per cocktail.

We had an afternoon flight home, so headed to the airport after lunch and landed in London just in time for dinner. Our weekend was pure bliss and if you haven’t been to Nice before, I’d recommend it so much for a weekend away! It just has absolutely everything you need for a city break; sunshine, beautiful views, great food, and the prettiest architecture. We all had a very lazy morning the next morning in the spa, and then we went for lunch at Le Meridien’s rooftop restaurant, La Terrasse – the view was absolutely stunning!

Before our starters came the Amuse Bouches. One of grissini with parma ham (not photographed), a pretty standard amuse bouche that although tasty wasn’t particularly interesting nor innovative, and another of asparagus, which was much better! We also had a basket of beautiful fresh bread.

From start to finish our meal was perfect. The staff were attentive and very helpful, we opted for the five course tasting menu (180PLN – around £30), and the staff helped us choose a really excellent Italian wine (we asked for something dry and oak-y but not too pricey, and that’s exactly what we got). They were also really lovely and allowed me to choose a different starter from the other menu as I don’t eat Beetroot.
