Today I would like to share with you information on the registration of citizenship of a child born under the surrogacy program in Ukraine.
The most asked question about this is:
“How can I get a Japanese passport after the birth of my baby? If I can’t get it, I may have difficulties with ... "

You do not need to worry about it.
Our Japanese employees have the knowledge and experience necessary to register a child in the family registry.
We will explain and tell you in details about registration and citizenship receiving procedure for a child born in Ukraine under the surrogacy program.
Preparation of documents for obtaining citizenship and registration of the child in the family registry requires both Ukrainian and Japanese sides assistance. Preparation from the Ukrainian side is, of course, our responsibility. We will prepare all the necessary documents (including a certificate of genetic relationships with genetic parents) and hand them over to the client at the right time.
Although the work on the Japanese side will be carried out by the client himself, the content and preparation procedure are pre-approved, therefore, until now we have not had a single case where something didn't work out or went wrong.
All Japanese children born under our surrogacy program successfully received their Japanese passports.
A Japanese passport for a child of a Japanese couple, born by a surrogate mother, is issued by the Japanese Embassy in Ukraine.
Even if one of the parents does not have Japanese citizenship.
And even if you do not have a Japanese citizen in your couple, please, feel free to contact us and receive all information about the ways you can use our surrogacy program.

This time we would like to provide information about the surrogate mother who has succesfully became pregnant and is doing well now, at 20th week of the pregnancy.

Our clients are also interested in this, so we hope that the following information will be useful to everyone.

First, I would like to explain how to verify that a surrogate mother is definitely pregnant.

About 10 days after the transferring of the embryo to the surrogate mother uterus, she passes a hCG-test. After the embryo-transfer, if an embryo succesfully implanted in the uterus, a placenta is being formed. The placenta secretes human chorionic gonadotropin, called "hCG", which is detected by a blood test. Then, the numerical value of the hCG test result indicates whether a pregnancy has been established.

Of course, we can also deliver an information about the results of the standard (simple) pregnancy test used by the surrogate mother. But usually we do not take the results of such simple test as a real result and do not report it to the clients. This is due to the fact that there is a high probability of error in the results of a urine pregnancy test. Of course blood test for hCG in a special laboratory gives much more accurate results.

We receive the hCG blood-test results within 2 days after surrogate mother passes it.

The first ultrasound examination is usually performed within 10 days after receiving the positive hCG-test results.

Our staff always shoots something like the attached video below during an ultrasound scan. We show these videos to our clients once or twice a month (depending on the stage of pregnancy).

In addition, we show our clients not only the ultrasound video, we give all available information about the fetus and its sizes at the time of the examination. We regularly inform our clients about the head diameter, thigh length, abdominal diameter, heart rate etc. By the way, during the second ultrasound examination our parents usually already have an opportunity to hear the heartbeat of the growing embryo.

We are very pleased to report such news. Because you can see how does your child grow without necessity to be near a surrogate mother.

Last week we passed the official procedure of confirming the birth of a Japanese child. After that happy parent received their "birth certificate".
A birth certificate is the most essential document, given to every child born in Ukraine. This is a necessary document for a child to get the Japanese citizenship.
Depending on the schedule of your arrival to Ukraine, usually 3-4 days after birth, the child’s parents go to the registry office, where after 2-4 hours of procedures they receive a birth certificate.

In addition, there are cases, when one of parents cannot arrive. In such case it is necessary to understand at all circumstances of parents.
If you have a strong reason why you cannot come (for example, the health of your wife or your husband), you can get a birth certificate just by one of the parents.
But, it is impermissible for reasons such as a cold or stomach-ache, therefore, in order to implement this method, the Japanese side prepares all the needed documents in advance. Our company is well acquainted with such methods, so you can rely on us.
And even if you will get a birth certificate, our services do not end there. Usually, after the birth of a child, our clients live in Kyiv approximately during a month.
In order for the child’s health to become strong enough for a long flight. During this month, our staff will take care of you. Support from our side for the whole month is included in our standard service-plan.
Of course, we will accompany you, even if you stay for more than a month. Depending on the client’s request, we can consult with our Japanese staff (Japanese) and discuss the conditions.

The woman in the picture is Alyona.
Among the employees of Baby for You there is a woman who is called the "Miracle Surrogate Mother."
Alyona is a surrogate mother of a couple who sent their embryo from Japan.
This is the so-called "transport program".
However, only one embryo was sent to Ukraine.
This embryo passed a very long distance to Ukraine inside the frozen dry shipper.
Then it arrived to the “Family Source” clinic, it was successfully unfrozen without any issues and transfered into Alyona’s uterus.
And Alena get pregnant.
Doctors with extensive experience of working in “Family Source” called this case “very lucky!”.
Because having only one embryo customers do not usually decide to transport it to the other end of the world.
Many people think that sending just one embryo has very poor chances of a successful pregnancy.
That is true, of course, but much depends on the predisposition of the surrogate mother to transplantation and her condition at particular time.

The birth of a baby is scheduled for March 2019.
So, if you have only one embryo, you always have a chance for success.

I would like to convey the atmosphere of Kiev Christmas to Japan.
The main New Year tree of Ukraine is exhibited in front of the St. Sophia Cathedral in Kiev. Christmas holidays are held here every year.
A concert venue is located next to the Christmas tree. Ukrainian and foreign artists, famous orchestras perform on the stage, politicians congratulate everyone on holidays, and much more.
Around the Christmas tree there are various shops selling mulled wine, cakes, barbecue, sweets and souvenirs.
Even in cold weather -10 ° C, the atmosphere here is very warm, so I highly recommend visiting this place to everyone who comes to Kiev.

Good day!

This is Roman from Ukrainian Baby For You agency.

This time we will tell you a bit about the life of Baby For You’s surrogate mother’s life in the prenatal period.

First of all, we should start with information, that all surrogate mothers of our agency, after their pregnancy is proven, get into a numerous regular medical examination (ultrasonography, blood test, urine test, etc) in Kyiv maternity hospital №1.

Wherever the surrogate mother lives (in capital city of, in so called “western capital of Ukraine” city of Lviv, or in Odessa in the south), she is always supposed to come to the Kyiv maternity hospital №1 for the regular medical examination.

Furthermore, the surrogate mother is necessarily hospitalized regardless of her condition one month before the expected date of birth. And she lives relaxed there till the delivery, under the strict 24h control of doctors and nurses.

Ms.Nadejda, the surrogate mother you can see at the photo, is also hospitalized to the Kyiv maternity hospital №1 already. We are all waiting for her delivery.

Please be sure that Baby For You’s staff will receive from KMH№1 all needed information about the fetus and surrogate mother condition at any time.

It depends on a client’s wish, but there is also an opportunity to get 2-3 days long baby care practice after the delivery. It means that parents get all the necessary knowledge from hospitals experienced nurses about how to take care of the baby. Nurses mostly speak only Ukrainian, but this is not a problem too, because BFY’s interpreter will always be by your side during that lessons. And such lessons are free of charge, it is included in the price of our surrogacy program.

This is Roman, I work in Ukrainian Baby For You agency.

Today I would like to tell you about Kyiv maternity hospital №1, our partner organization, where all our surrogate mothers are being regularly examined during the pregnancy and where they actually give a birth to babies.

Kyiv maternity hospital №1 is a facility with a very long history. Founded in the Soviet era, it has been a building that remained almost unchanged until recent time.

You might have seen the video about this hospital which is posted at https://dairibo.com/.

The original design of the hospital was very typical for the Soviet times, and the energy efficiency (heating) of the building was very low. So, the building needed some modernization.

And, at last, today Kyiv maternity hospital №1 is proceeding a renovation, they started works from this summer. They are working with no off-days, and even today, when the outside temperature drops to -10℃, workers are doing their best as shown on the photo.

It is planned that renovation will be completed till the next spring.
From now on, not only the friendly doctors, nurses and medical technologies of Kyiv maternity hospital №1 will share their excellency with you, but the building itself is going to turn beautiful too.

It is very important for us, because Baby For You’s surrogate mothers who are hospitalized to this facility before childbirth, will be able to spend their time in a very comfortable and convenient environment.

And all of us, Baby For You’s Ukrainian staff, are also very happy about these changes, because we will be able to take you to renewed hospital!

I would like to share some photo from the spot.

B4Y clients who come to Ukraine to collect their own eggs take different medicines during the hormonal stimulation, including injections. Such kind of treatment is necessary both for strengthening of the follicle growth and preventing premature ovulation.

Some of our clients can’t do the injections by themselves. There is one very important injection called “the trigger”, which is always made 36 hours before the egg collection operation, and as far as the egg collection operations mostly done in the very morning, the timing of this injection often falls in the late evening, when the clinic doesn't work. But you shouldn’t worry about that even if you can’t do the injections by yourself.

Despite the off hours of the clinic, if you are Baby For You’s client, clinic’s nurse or doctor necessarily comes to the place you stay in Kiev, or clinic just opens to make your only “trigger” injection.

This is Julia on the photo. Julia is the nurse of Family Source clinic. She is a very polite professional.
