International Standardization Academy

International Standardization Academy On December 17, 2004 ISA held its first constituent meeting. In 2009, ISA was registered as a non-profit public organization with an international status.

The International Standardization Academy is a non-profit public organization with an international status, the priority interest of which is the consolidation of the efforts of its members and partners with the aim of preserving and developing the intellectual potential of the society, creating the necessary conditions for sustainable economic development, raising standards for the quality and safety of human life and activities. At that time, ISA was joined by members of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, the Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine and other industry academies. In particular, 52 full members and 33 corresponding members, among them 27 professors, 22 doctors of sciences, 6 associate professors, 31 candidates of science, laureates of State awards, honored workers of Ukrainian industry, honored activists of science and technology of Ukraine. The need for a more effective protection of society in the spheres of public health, safety of people's lives and protection of the environment, protection of the rights of citizens as consumers is possible only through guaranteeing the declared quality of products, goods and services through reliable measurements, which requires a balanced and coordinated policy of different countries. Therefore, the main ISA’s goal is the consolidation of the efforts of scientists, specialists, public and state figures, producers and consumers to develop national and international systems of standardization, metrology, conformity assessment and consumer rights protection in order to guarantee high standards of quality and safety of human life. Standardization fits seamlessly into the globalization processes: regional economic groups are developing international standards that allow producers to discover new markets around the world. This is very important, given Ukraine's membership in the WTO, where it is necessary to deal with increasing the safety and quality of goods and services in accordance with international standards, which, of course, will strengthen the export potential of the state, help preserve jobs and, fundamentally, positively affect the quality of life of citizens – increasing the level of protection of consumer rights, strengthening control over preventing the sale on the Ukrainian market of dangerous and defective products, both of domestic and foreign origin. In this context, ISA’s strategic objectives are to establish international contacts with the leading countries of the world, where issues of technical regulation and consumer rights protection is at the high level of state governance, with the accommodation to scientific research in these fields, the promotion and implementation of their outcomes, improving the quality of training and continuous education of the scientific personnel and specialists in different fields, attraction of investments and non-budgetary funds to carry out research in the fields of ISA’s activities. STANDARDS – FOR QUALITY OF LIFE!
