We are preparing for a medical outreach in Waka Waka, on March 6th & 7th in a densely populated fishing community located along the shores of Lake Victoria.
This community is served by only a Health Centre II, with very limited services (OPC, Immunization, some Antenatal and Child care, Community health and education services). The nearest fully equipped hospital is far away, making access to healthcare extremely difficult for residents.
The challenges are urgent:
• High rates of HIV transmission
• Poor sanitation and hygiene conditions
• Limited access to essential medical care
• Overstretched local health services
Fishing is the main economic activity, but despite their hard work, families remain medically underserved due to isolation and inadequate health infrastructure.
But, we don’t want to just simply meet their physical needs, we want to courageously, and very boldly share the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ through an afternoon crusade-like event on March 5th.
