Yesterday our midwives boarded the back of a motorcycle taxi and made their way to the home of some expectant mothers.

For many women the daily tasks of fetching water, digging in their gardens, cooking, cleaning and raising children leaves them little time to go to the doctor for their routine maternity checks.

Healthy pregnancies lead to less complications at birth so our maternity team helps bridge the gap by going to where these women can easily get the pregnancy checks needed.

Malnutrition is a real killer in our area.
This boy was brought to us by a very caring grandmother who noticed his parents were struggling to provide. His legs were swollen and he was almost unresponsive.

The team at HHC quickly found out that malnutrition was not the only battle this boy was facing but severe malaria as well.
Here you see him after days in our care. His grandmother has been given extra food supplements and nutritional education we sre happy to say he’s on the road to recovery.

Our nurses not only make sure that medication and treatments are taken care of in a timely manner but they talk to patients answering their questions, change bedding and gowns, give bed baths and deep clean after each patient.
It’s not an easy job but we appreciate all they do to provide a wonderful environment for healing to take place.
