Lecture about Thyroid Goiter & Remedies-
Thyroid goiter is a condition where there is an abnormal enlargement of your thyroid gland.
The photo here shows how thyroid goiters look, which Is swollen Neck and fat. When you touch it, you can tell it isn't fat since it is firm and doesn't move much.
Most thyroid goiters are painless, but they may produce symptoms due to their size itself. The most common symptom from a thyroid goiter is a lump in the neck. Other symptoms from a large thyroid goiter may include a sense of a lump in the throat, difficulty swallowing, difficulty breathing and even in extreme cases, voice changes and even vocal cord paralysis.
Worldwide, the most common cause of thyroid goiter is in locations where iodine in the diet is low or non-existent.
Causes of hypothyroidism
• Iodine deficiency
• Diets deficient in iodine can predispose individuals for the development of thyroid goiters.
• Overgrowth of normal thyroid tissue
• Thyroid cysts
• Inflammatory diseases of the thyroid (called thyroiditis)
• Multinodular disease of the thyroid (also called Multinodular Goiter or just "Goiter" which in some instances there may be a strong family history of goiters
Home Remedy for hypothyroidism
**To avoid Goiter stay away from Millet****
1.-Apple-Cider-Vinegar
You Will Need
1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
1/2 teaspoon honey
A glass of warm water
What You Have To Do
Mix the honey and vinegar with water and drink this, preferably on an empty stomach.
How Often You Should Do This
Do this every day in the morning.
Why This Works
Apple cider vinegar is mildly acidic, restores the pH balance in the body. It detoxifies the body, and this indirectly helps to increase iodine absorption and reduce the thyroid swelling .
2. Castor Oil For Goiter
You Will Need
Few drops of castor oil
What You Have To Do
Massage the neck area with the oil gently.
Leave the oil on overnight.
How Often You Should Do This
Repeat this every night, before going to bed.

Castor oil has anti-inflammatory properties that will help to reduce the swelling in the thyroid gland .
3. Coconut Oil For Goiter
Virgin coconut oil contains high levels of lauric acid, and when you consume it, this acid is converted into monolaurin, which has antimicrobial properties. It stimulates the metabolism, and this may aid in better absorption of iodine from the diet. Also, coconut oil has anti-inflammatory properties which can reduce the thyroid gland swelling .Include good quality virgin coconut oil in your daily diet. You can add it to your hot drinks, smoothies, and use it for cooking as well.

You Will Need
Handful of watercress with water
What You Have To Do
Grind the watercress with water to get a thick paste.
Apply this on the neck and let it sit for about 20 minutes.
Rinse it off with water.
You can take about two tablespoons of crushed watercress and add it to a glass of water, and drink it.
How Often You Should Do This
Apply watercress paste on the neck 2-3 times a week. It is recommended to drink watercress juice twice every day for a few weeks to see results for alleviated goiter symptoms.

5. Dandelion Leaves for Goiter
You Will Need
Handful of dandelion leaves
1 tablespoon clarified butter (ghee)
Water

Grind the leaves with some water to make a paste.
To this, add the ghee and heat the mixture for a few minutes, until it becomes lukewarm.
Apply this on the neck and keep it on for 15-20 minutes.
Then, rinse it off.
How Often You Should Do This
Repeat this every day for a week or two to notice results.

Dandelion leaves have anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties .Hence, this paste can reduce the swelling of the thyroid gland and give you relief from the associated symptoms.

(a) Lemon Juice For Goiter

You Will Need
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 clove garlic
1 teaspoon honey
What You Have To Do
Crush the garlic and mix it with the lemon juice and honey.
Drink this in the morning.
How Often You Should Do This
Do this every day in the morning, preferably on an empty stomach.
Why This Works
Both lemon and garlic contain anti-inflammatory compounds. This remedy also works to remove any toxins that have accumulated in the body due to infections, by eliminating the microbes with their antimicrobial properties .
(b) Pineapple Juice For Goiter
You Will Need
4-5 pineapple pieces
1 medium-sized carrot
2 tomatoes
What You Have To Do
Blend everything together to get a smooth juice. You can add some water to adjust the consistency.
Drink this juice, either at room temperature or slightly chilled.
How Often You Should Do This
Drink a glass of this pineapple blend every day.
Why This Works
Pineapple is rich in vitamins and minerals. It can help with the symptoms of goiter, particularly the coughing (12). Make pineapples a part of your everyday diet, and you’ll see a difference pretty soon.

Dried kelp powder
What You Have To Do
Add a tablespoon of this powder to any smoothie and consume it.

There is a reason why the Japanese are mostly goiter-free! They eat plenty of kelp in their regular diet. Kelp is a seaw**d and helps to normalize the functioning of the thyroid gland, thanks to its high iodine content. You can buy kelp from a Japanese food store.
Caution
Do not consume for longer periods of time as the thyroid levels can increase and cause hyperthyroidism (13).
8. Moringa (Malunggay) For Goiter
You Will Need
1 tablespoon dried moringa leaves
A cup of hot water
What You Have To Do
Steep the leaves in hot water for a few minutes.
Strain and drink this decoction.
How Often You Should Do This
Drink moringa tea once every day.
Why This Works
This herbal tea has an earthy taste and very refreshing for the body. It has been shown to inhibit the chemicals that partake in the inflammation process (15). When used to treat goiter, it can reduce the thyroid gland swelling with the above-mentioned property.
9. Turmeric For Goiter-Turmeric-For-Goiter
You Will Need
1/2 cup turmeric powder
1 cup water
1 1/2 teaspoons black pepper powder
70 ml cold pressed olive oil or coconut oil
What You Have To Do
Heat the water in a pan with turmeric powder in it.
Cook this slowly for 5-10 minutes, until you get a thick paste.
Now add the black pepper and the oil, and stir well.
Remove from the flame and store in an airtight container.
Have a teaspoon of this paste.
This golden paste can be stored in the refrigerator for 1-2 weeks.
How Often You Should Do This
Repeat this twice a day.

10. Leaves of okra
The leaves of okra is rich in iodine, you can eat it raw, in ancient times women after child birth were given this, because during pregnancy women lost a lot of nutrients if they don’t eat balanced diet.
Iodine is an essential micronutrient for thyroid hormone synthesis. The requirement for iodine increases during early pregnancy, which is due to increased maternal thyroid hormone production, increased renal iodine losses and transfer of iodine to the fetus.
