Beloved, have you noticed that every time as the world approaches a new year, most people usually can't wait to see the back of the expiring year, often because they feel it did'nt exactly deliver on the lofty expectations they had coming into that same year? Sadly, that feeling seems to begin so early for so many making the expiring year almost seem like eternity...The question that has raised in my spirit as we begin this new year 2018 is why we don't ever seem to have years that you don't want to end simply because it has delivered sooooo muuuuch on your dreams, aspirations, expectations?
My prayer for every member of this ministry family and the ministry as a whole is that 2018 will be the first of many such years which we will wish doesn't end by the time we're approaching 2019, because it delivered so much on our dreams, goals, career ambitions and prayers. The witness in my spirit is that while many people will naturally not wish such a year to end for fear that it may just have been a one off, yes it will surely end and we'll slide into 2019, but only to realize that 2018 wasn't actually just a one off, on the contrary it's the new normal.
Its been a time of taking root downwards, now it's the season to start bearing forth fruit upwards (Isaiah 37:31-32), the season when the sower overtakes the reaper, (Amos 9:13), the season when we will have to empty granaries (bank accounts) of the old harvest (salaries, earnings) to create space for the new even though the old one could still have sustained us for some time, (Leviticus 26:10), the season when we do not only drink water out of our own cisterns as opposed to that of 'external donors' but when the water in our cisterns is sufficient to even bless other ministries and even nations (Proverbs 5:15), when out of our bellies and cisterns are flowing streams of living water (John 7:37-38). May that be our portion this year and many years of the new normal ahead of us.
Have a super blessed and fruitful 2018!
