Coming up with a BUSINESS IDEA.
Many friends have inboxed me asking of how one can come up with a business idea.
Well, this is what we are going to briefly discuss today and soon we will a live session to discuss the theme even more.
Every business starts with idea and ordinary people like me come up with these ideas.
I have come up with an outline which I think from them one can easily have a clew on how to come up with a business idea.
1. Look around into the businesses people do. It will be rare for one to have a brand-new idea. Am not saying you can't create a new idea, no you can. But people have been around and have created these ideas.
So look around and find one that is appealing to you or come up with a list of existing ideas that inspire you. Don't fear competition. If an idea is good just know that competition already exists or soon it will come.
2. Solve a problem. This is another way of starting a business. You identify something that people are struggling with and you design a solution to end their struggle as they pay you. For example in this lockdown I have been struggling with home schooling for my kids and a teacher appeared who teaches them for a few hours and she is paid instantly.
3. Use your acquired skills. Just I told in two, a teacher teaches my kids and she earns. She does it for hours and goes somewhere else.
4. Trying out something totally new. You have never baked but you decide to try it out. It may take you learning a new skill. Try right away. Don't wait to be perfect. You will improve along the way.
5. Look away from home like abroad for an idea. These days with internet, the world is just a big global village. Seek out ideas from far you think may work in your area and try out. I say try because you won't know if it works until you test.
The list can be endless but am sure from that one can start.
Being an entrepreneur has nothing to do with being the the best, smartest, most perfect or articulate. No, it's about starting and taking the risk. It will even involve risking with cash.
Good ideas don't start because owners fear to risk.
Wish you a successful risking journey.
