MEET DR. MANOHAR SURYAWANSHI
An experienced ENT (Ear, Nose, and Throat) surgeon with over a decade of clinical expertise, Maj(Dr) Manohar Suryawanshi specializes in head and neck disorders, vertigo, and nasal allergies. Today, we celebrate a remarkable and life-saving procedure successfully performed under his leadership.
A patient presented with a bronchial foreign body, later identified as a sharp paper pin lodged in the bronchus with its pointed end facing upward. The object was causing active bleeding and posed a serious risk of airway compromise and further complications.
Working collaboratively with Dr Kanishka Salunkhe, Dr. Manohar expertly performed a rigid bronchoscopy to safely remove the foreign body. Given the sharp nature of the object and the associated bleeding, the procedure required exceptional precision and technical expertise.
The foreign body was successfully removed without complications. The patient tolerated the procedure well and is now stable, comfortable, and recovering well.
This case underscores the importance of timely intervention, surgical expertise, and strong multidisciplinary coordination in managing airway emergencies.
