The cooperative day medical camp was a success courtesy of donations from CIC Insurance Company Ltd, Novomed Healthcare Limited, Royal Pharma 2011 Ltd, DGRV Uganda, IHCO, and MTIC. The event attracted a large number of participants from the local community, who benefited from various health services, including free check-ups, vaccinations, and health education seminars. Medical professionals volunteered their time and expertise, demonstrating a commitment to improving the health and well-being of those in need.

Doctors from KAMACOS joined the rest of the world to celebrate the International Day of Cooperatives at Misanvu Demonstration Primary School in Bukomansimbi District, where they held a medical camp for three days during the cooperative week. The medical camp aimed to provide essential health services to the local community, offering free consultations, basic healthcare screenings, and educational sessions on hygiene and nutrition. Local residents eagerly lined up to receive care from the dedicated team of doctors, nurses, and volunteers, who worked tirelessly to ensure that everyone received attention.

Throughout the three-day event, health talks were organized to empower the community with knowledge about disease prevention and healthy living. Topics such as family planning, maternal health, and the importance of vaccinations were discussed, sparking lively interactions among participants.

The cooperative spirit was palpable as local and International cooperative societies and organizations collaborated with the medical team, facilitating the mobilization of resources and encouraging community participation. At the end of the camp, many expressed their gratitude for the services received, highlighting the positive impact of such initiatives on their lives. It was an honor to participate at the international workshop with the theme; "Empowering the futures: Cooperatives at the forefront of inclusivity, Resilience and Environmental Stewardship" organized by OCB and United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA) as a panelist at the sidelines of this years' Congress of Organization of Cooperatives in Brazil (OCB) held 14th to 16th May 2024. The workshop was not only educative and informative but also gave us the opportunity to share our experiences with the rest of the world.
Many thanks to UNDESA and OCB for bringing together 19 countries globally to discuss the future of Cooperatives at the international workshop.
Where we discussed, Healthcare Cooperatives where we highlighted their "Role in Economic and Community Resilience" and "Sustainable Healthcare Models through Cooperatives".
Also it was a previlage to meet with my president, the president of the International Health Cooperative Organization (IHCO), Dr. Carlos Zarco.
