Meet our Patient Ms. Winifred .
Ms Wini was injured in her Right Eye by a thorn when she was 3 years old. She was treated for it. But she never regained good vision.

CATARACT & RETINA COMBINED PATIENT.
Patient REVEREND ANATOLI WASSWA, I'D 22470 , came to ASG EYE HOSPITAL KAMPALA in Dec 2020.
He had already lost his Right Eye to Cataract and Retina changes .Left eye was also on the verge of going.
He has visited many hospitals and many doctors. He was refused everywhere. He was told he has no hope.
He had a Cataract and severe Retina changes in Both Eyes.
He was examined thoroughly with various instruments and tests and asked to undergo Right Eye Phaco Cataract Surgery and also Retina surgery.
He underwent Right eye Cataract + IOL surgery + Retina surgery in Jan 2021.

RETINA PATIENT.
Patient Mary Muhumuza, I'D 16538 , came to ASG EYE HOSPITAL KAMPALA in Dec 2019.
She had already lost her Right Eye to Diabetic changes and a failed Eye surgery.
She had a Cataract and a Diabetic Retinopathy in Left Eye.
She was examined thoroughly with various instruments and tests and asked to undergo Left Eye Phaco Cataract Surgery and later on Vitrectomy surgery for Retina.
She underwent Left eye Cataract + IOL surgery in Jan 2020.
And then sadly the entire world went into a Lockdown due to COVID.

Screen time is a big issue these days. You probably spend a good number of hours looking at screens, like your computer at work and at home, your smartphone, television, or other digital devices. Looking at screens too much can lead to eye strain. The rule says that for every 20 minutes spent looking at a screen, a person should look at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds.

Patient Mrs Mary presented at ASG Eye Hospitals, Kampala with complain of significantly diminished vision in Right eyes..
But other doctors of Kampala had told her that her Right Eye is a failed eye due to a Corneal opacity in front of eye and a rock hard cataract.
On examination, she was diagnosed as a case of Advanced cataract right eye with a corneal opacity .
She was counselled at ASG KAMPALA to get her surgery done for 2 reasons (1) She may regain vision (2) To prevent nuisance of a rock hard cataract falling into the eye.
She was advised Phaco surgery under Topical anesthesia with a Broad iridectomy procedure that means injection wasn't required for anesthesia.
