Uganda Orthodox Medical Bureau with support from Ministry of Health- Uganda held a a 2 days sensitization workshop at Hotel Africana on HIV, MALARIA, COVID-19 targeting all UOC Church leaders. In attendance, UOC was led by Rev Fr. Mbonabingi Constantine the Dean Western Uganda. This was a successful activity, and objective well achieved with 99% attendance.

With support from International Orthodox Christian Charities , Uganda Orthodox Medical Bureau yesterday 6th August 2021 started the distribution of mitigation items across all Orthodox Church affiliated health facilities.

Due to the fact that the 2nd Wave of the pandemic came with unprecedented effects including lose of a multitude of lives, this timely support is surly pivotal in combating this deadly Virus.

The first distribution was done at Orthodox Church Mission Hospital Uganda Namungoona. We continue to urge you all to observe SOPs as stipulated by the Ministry of Health so as to avoid contracting the various and prevent possible outback of other variants of the

With the continued partnership of the Uganda Orthodox Church and International Orthodox Christian Charities, the Uganda Orthodox Medical Bureau flagged off a consignment of items required by ahead of the opening up of centers of worship amidst the pandemic. The items which included sanitizer, handwashing items, Church cleaning materials, etc were flagged off by Metropolitan Jonah at Namungoona on the 8th. October 2020. With this support, we certainly ascertain that our centers all over the country are now ready to conduct prayers while in proper observation of the set conditions by the Ministry of Health- Uganda and the government of .
The Deans and other clergies that come to witness the flagging off where first of all taken through a full day intensive training session trigger towards equipping them will skill on how to use the materials and how better to conduct services in a very secure method.

Member facilities under the Uganda Orthodox Medical Bureau are engaged in a two days performance review workshop being conducted at Pope Paul Memorial Hostel in Rubage. The Bureau commands a total of 21 health centers scattered all the various parts of the country with one Hospital (Holy Cross Orthodox Mission Hospital Namungoona). Dr. Okello Moses the programs Manager UOMB presided over the official opening where the introduction of the present individual centers and projection of their expectations was carried out.

His Grace Bishop Silvester of Gulu and Eastern Uganda today officiated the launching of the Covid19 mitigation equipment donated by International Orthodox Christian Charities to Uganda Orthodox Medical Bureau for use in Uganda Orthodox Church medical facilities during this tragic period characterized by increasing cases of COVID19 and deaths. The UOMB Execative Secretary Dr. Sande urged the health workers to follow the Ministry of Health- Uganda guidelines to evade the pandemic.

On June 18, 2020, The Coptic community through the UOMB donated to Holy Cross Orthodox Mission Hospital - Namungoona a collection of medical items drugs, PPES, gowns, face shields, KN95 Masks and much more. The Coptic community has been in partnership with the UOMB in our struggle to provide desirable medical services to Uganda Orthodox Church and we genuinely appreciate their generous support.
