📦✨ A heartfelt thank you to Colonial Children’s Academy, the preschool within Minuteman High School in Massachusetts, USA, for your generous donations to Tunaweza Children’s Centre!

We are so grateful for the books, helmets, mats, and pocket charts you donated. We received over 50 children’s books that our students will benefit from in so many ways.

The donations were handed over by Gabby during her visit. Watch to see the joy and smiles of our staff members!

Swipe to see the smiling faces of our Class Department, Speech Department, and Daycare Department staff as they received these beautiful gifts! Your support truly means the world to us. 💜

Together, we’re making a difference, one small act at a time.

Meet Isaiah 💫

When he first came to Tunaweza, he wasn’t able to stand or walk on his own.
But with the help of therapy, determination, and a lot of support, he reached a milestone moment. ✨

During physical therapy, Isaiah took his first steps with the support of his physical therapist and his KAFO braces.

Step by step, with courage and care, he walked farther than anyone expected. 💪🏽💜
We are so proud of his progress and excited for what’s ahead!

✨ Our Little Hands Can Do Big Things! 💫

Our students worked alongside one of our teachers to create this beautiful and colorful art piece. With love and creativity, they traced their hands, colored the tree, and added stickers as a final touch. 🌳🎨

Now displayed on our main board, it brings color, joy, and most importantly a daily reminder that every child has potential. 💛

We’re so proud of their work and the light it brings to our center each day! 🌈👐

Special needs education in early intervention helps children with learning and developmental delays with personalized support, adaptive teaching, and creating equal learning chances so every child can grow, learn, and succeed. 🌱 The earlier the support starts, the easier it becomes for the child to catch up and thrive. Early Support, Lifelong Success: The Role of OT in Your Child’s Development”
OT helps babies and toddlers who are facing developmental delays, sensory challenges, or difficulties with everyday tasks.

It’s more than just play — it’s guided, purposeful support to help your child learn skills like:
✔️ Holding, grasping, and using their hands effectively
✔️ Feeding themselves, dressing, and other self-care tasks
✔️ Managing sensory experiences like sounds, textures, and movement
✔️ Improving balance, coordination, and strength
✔️ Engaging in meaningful play and social interaction

Occupational Therapists work closely with parents to turn everyday routines — mealtimes, playtime, and bath time — into learning opportunities. The earlier the support, the stronger the foundation for independence, confidence, and future learning.

💛 Early support changes lives! 💛

In Uganda, many children with speech delays, developmental challenges, or learning difficulties are often told to “wait and see.” But the truth is — the earlier we act, the better the outcome! 🌱👶

Early intervention means giving children the help they need as soon as signs of delay are noticed — from speech therapy to special education support. This boosts brain development, improves school readiness, and builds confidence early on. 🧠📚

Don’t wait for your child to “catch up.” If they’re not meeting milestones — like talking, playing, or walking like others their age — seek help early. At this young age, their brains are growing fast and respond better to support.

👩‍⚕️ Whether it’s autism, speech delay, or developmental delays, early intervention can make a huge difference.

Let’s raise awareness and give our children the best start in life. Because every child can thrive with the right support. 🌟

🚨 “They’ll catch up…”
Not always — and waiting could mean missing the chance to help early. 💛

If your child isn’t walking, talking, or showing interest in others, it may be more than a phase.

👀 Watch for these signs:
- 🐢 Not sitting by 9 months or walking by 18 months
- 🗣️ No words by 18 months
- 👁️ No eye contact or response to name
- ❌ Not pointing, waving, or showing things
- 🎭 No pretend play or interest in other children
- 🔁 Repeating the same actions over and over

💡 Early intervention isn’t a label — it’s a lifeline. The earlier we act, the better they grow. 🌱

Every child grows at their own pace — some just need a little extra support along the way. 💛

That’s where early intervention comes in. It provides specialized support for children aged 0–5 years who may be delayed in talking, moving, playing, or social interaction — including those with special needs like autism, Down syndrome, or developmental delays.

At Tunaweza Children’s Centre our team offers:
🎵 Music Therapy
📚Special Education
🗣️ Speech Therapy
👣 Occupational Therapy
🐾Physical Therapy

Early support builds skills like:
💬 Talking and understanding language
🧠 Learning educational skills
👣 Movement and independence

The earlier the help, the greater the progress! 🌱

If you notice delays or have questions, don’t wait. We’re here to help.
