Food at the Obua household is traditional Ugandan food such as rice, beans, giant avocados, fresh fruit, potatoes, chicken, beef, pork, green bananas, peanuts and freshly cooked chapati from the nearby shop.

Where does the water come from, you may ask?
Running water in rural Uganda is almost non-existent so every day water is collected from the nearby river and brought to the house.
Showering 'Ugandan style' is a little different to what most volunteers are used to but it doesn't take long to master. Fill a jerry can with water, soap yourself up, throw some water over yourself to wash it all off and you're good to go! It's as simple as that. 🚿
