This was evident at the 2026 Guttempler' Congress where the joint work of Hope And Beyond Uganda, FORUT Entwicklungshilfe-Organisation e.V. and Movendi International was show cased as a best practice in promoting wellness through addiction prevention and treatment practices

Despite the growing burden of substance use disorders (SUDs) in Uganda, treatment is severely inadequate, particularly for women. According to research, Gender-specific challenges, such as stigma, fear of losing child custody, and lack of women-centered programs, hinder access to care. "Only about 35% of public facilities meet minimum criteria for managing SUDs, and fewer than 15% have trained staff for diagnosis and treatment" (Adonga et. al, 2022)
