Thibodeaux Animal Hospital Dr. SamThibodeaux, an Erath native, is a 1986 graduate of the Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine.

After graduating, he worked at University Animal Clinic, a busy high quality small animal practice in Lake Charles, Louisiana for 2 and 1/2 years before buying Dr. Harold's Animal Hospital from Dr. Harold Travasos in 1989, changing the name to Thibodeaux Animal Hospital. He is a past president of the Acadiana Area Veterinary Association, a founding member of the board of directors of the Lafayett

e Animal Emergency Clinic being board president for several years until the emergency clinic was sold in 2005. He has been a church organist/pianist for over 20 years. He enjoys boating, fishing, scuba diving, cycling, camping, and traveling. Our hospital is equipped with an in-house laboratory updated in 2014 providing quick results for blood chemistry panels, electrolytes, thyroid function, CBC's, and clotting times. We utilize an outside lab for other tests that may be needed in the diagnosis or followup of your pet's problems. We have an in-house xray machine and utilize gas anesthesia for surgical and dental procedures. Dr. Thibodeaux performs routine dental cleanings and most tooth extractions, routine spays and neuters, and most soft tissue surgeries. He refers orthopedic surgeries to trusted and experienced surgeons for fracture repairs and other bone and ligament surgeries. We provide routine wellness care, recommending yearly visits and exams to detect any problems before they become major issues, vaccinations, yearly heartworm tests, as well as year-round heartworm prevention and flea control.

NOTICE:
Due to an influx of no-shows and late cancellations on very busy days, we are implementing a strict and nonrefundable, non-cancellation fee. Starting Monday, if you do not come in for an appointment that you had scheduled for either a Monday or Friday- you will be charged the cost of your visit.
This fee will need to be paid before we will reschedule your appointment, no exceptions.
While we understand that things come up, and sometimes it may seem out of your control to give us a heads up, we have a lot of sick pets that we have to turn away because of these taken up appointment slots that we could have used for them.
Also, late fees will be implemented as well as this eats into our schedule and causes other patients/clients to be pushed behind.
Thank you for allowing us to continue caring for your babies in the best and most efficient way! 🐶

Good afternoon!
Starting this week, Dr Thibodeaux will be out of the office on Wednesdays every week. If you need to schedule an appointment or pick up medication, Sonia or Kayle will still be in the office. If you have an emergency/sick pet on this day, please call the clinic and we will direct you on your options.
