I came across the Zen Buddhist term “Shoshin,” while prepping my yoga classes for January and I loved the concept.

Many times we become rigid because we firm believe we know something really well. When that happens our capacity to learn and grow is limited.

Staying curious throughout our journey, allows for us to deepen and expand our knowledge. To meet people where they’re at and to minimize suffering.

This month of January, brings a “fresh start.” It invites us to rethink, restart and stay open to the vast possibilities we may encounter.

One of the greatest gifts yoga has brought into my life is the community I’ve built with likeminded people throughout my years as both a student and a teacher.

My intention is always to create spaces where people feel welcomed, heard, and loved. That’s why I created this class followed by a brunch, to offer an environment where you can feel at ease, connect, and exchange experiences while enjoying good food and beverages.

Life gets busy, and sometimes it’s hard to make new connections, slow down, or talk to someone you haven’t had the chance to get to know. The truth is, we are deeply connected to one another. We’re social beings, and we crave social interactions.

It’s also true that Thanksgiving, or however you prefer to acknowledge this time of year, can be challenging if your family or friends aren’t nearby, or if you’d rather not be around them. It’s okay. Relationships are complex.

I invite you to join us and celebrate this season with a sense of gratitude and appreciation for the community around you. And really… who would want to miss good food and good conversations?

See you on Sunday, Nov. 23rd at 12 p.m.

15-minute Q&A and personal support
A cozy, small-group setting (max 5 students) for personalized attention

This week’s dump:

This was a busy week! I worked my butt off, got back to exercising, had a goodbye lunch at work, managed to do some yoga, went bowling with my family, saw my very first grown strawberry, and taught three yoga classes.

I came across a quote that Matthew McConaughey used during a free mastermind event that really resonated with me: “I have a lot of proof that the Universe conspires for me to be happy.” When I take a moment to reflect on that quote, it makes me smile, because I feel like I’ve had so many happy accidents throughout my life, and it only strengthens my conviction that the Universe has my back (as Gabi Bernstein says).

Wishing you a great long weekend! Trust that all will be well. ❤️

This picture captures motherhood at its finest: beautiful and messy, most of the time.

Being a mom has deepened my appreciation for the little things, the small moments, the laughs, and has really pushed me into the heart of yoga’s lessons: learning to be okay with the hard moments, too. Sometimes it’s easy to lean into discomfort, just like in yoga. And sometimes it feels more like, “Can I just roll up my mat and leave?”

I often forget to detach from this new identity, one that’s always thinking of everyone else, and rarely of herself. I’m still learning to find my rhythm. The truth is, there isn’t really a perfect balance, just a need to keep showing up for myself and nurturing the parts of me that get lost in the chaos.

May you feel the love and nurturing of a mother today, even if yours is no longer here, or your relationship is strained.

Happy Mother’s Day.

Happy Friday!

This quote made me reflect on how many times I have only focused on getting into the pose, but when the pose allowed me to get into the body that’s when the magic happened.

The bliss I felt. Getting out of auto pilot state. Being able to recognize my inner critic self without letting it run the show.

There is so much more to yoga than asanas and shapes. Do you agree?

There is one more day to sign up for the Intro to Yoga Series where we’ll work with the fundamental asanas, breath work and meditation as a tool to enter the body.

I hope you have a beautiful weekend and I’ll see you on your mat!

Sending you love today and always 🫶🏽

No, you don’t have to be flexible to do yoga!

Let’s not get discouraged by the very complex yoga poses that we see on social media everyday.

To begin with, yoga is not only physical. There is so much more to it. Yoga is constituted of eight limbs, Asana, the physical practice, being one of them.

I believe that Asana is usually the door to deepen into the other practices that compose yoga.

The benefits of following this path go beyond being able to touch our toes.

Being able to see things with more clarity and to not get so caught up in my thoughts, being more kind towards myself and others, creating boundaries to respect myself and my values are some of the things that I believe was possible through my yoga practice.

If I ever thought I had to be flexible to start doing yoga I’d miss out on all of it.

So, I invite you to start, wherever you are. Don’t be discouraged if you think you can’t do much now. I guarantee you that there’s always something you can do and it’s only the beginning.

Join me for a 6 week Intro to Yoga Series starting on April, 20th at . We’ll explore fundamental yoga poses (Asanas), breathing techniques and meditation.

Connection is one of the most important aspects of yoga. Connecting with yourself and connecting with others.
In a world where there is so much separation it’s important that we find ways to feel seen, heard and that we belong.

By experience, I can tell you that yoga brought the internal and external feeling of connection that I longed for.

I became part of something bigger. I became part of a community with individuals who are looking to do better.

When I stepped into the yoga path I had no idea how much it would impact the way I see myself and how I see others. I was already a kind person, but yoga made me want to extend it further.

The aspect of community that yoga brings can be underrated, but for some, that might be the only few times they feel part of something, they feel accepted.

By sharing yoga, my purpose is that my students feel that connection, that they start to break down the walls that separate them from loving themselves and others. So they can see that they have always carried it with them all along.

Let’s keep building this beautiful community. Maybe invite a friend to class next time you go. Maybe decide to take a yoga class if you haven’t.

For my folks in New Jersey who are seeking more connection and sense of community, join me for my 6 week-series Intro to Yoga starting on April 20th at . On top of building your yoga practice it may also bring you great friends!

Tagging .aloha who I recently met through yoga and already feel like an old friend ❤️.

Tag your yoga buddies to show some love.

Sending love to you today and always! 🫶🏽

No, today I’m not teaching you how to do dancers pose, but instead I want to talk about how much dancing has been a vital part of who I’m and how it allows me to shift my emotions.

Since I was very little I had a passion for dancing. Unfortunately, I never attended any dancing classes as a kid or teen, but still loved moving my body to a good beat.

Since January of this year I started to incorporate it more like an every day tool. By playing a couple songs that empower me every morning and allowing my body to freely move in any direction it wants to. Sometimes I jump, shake arms and legs, push energy away, lift energy from the ground, twerk.. whatever movement comes thru I allow it.

I gotta tell you! What a freaking difference it makes in my day! Yesterday, I woke later than usual and the whole morning I was in a low energy bubble and worried. Then, I put the music on.. I danced, I screamed (nobody was home lol), I cried and what a release!

Some people think they can’t dance, but you don’t have to be coordinated, whatever it’s stored in your body wants to move! Tune into a song that empowers you that you think that “f*ck yeah,” and let it openly take your body in any direction it wants to.

Do you use dancing as a tool? Share in the comments!
