🐺NSU Parade Day in Aberdeen, SD
The Gypsy Day Parade is fast approaching. NSU staff and the City of Aberdeen are making final preparations for the event and here are some things you may need to know for Saturday morning:
GYPSY DAY PARADE ROAD CLOSURE NOTICE
Saturday, September 20 from 6:00 a.m. to noon
Parade Begins at 9:00 a.m.
Main Parade Route:
• Main Street N from 8th Ave NE to S 12th Ave with no through traffic except for:
o 6th Ave SE will remain open until the parade comes through
Towing:
• Towing will begin at 6:00 a.m. beginning with Downtown Core Area, then north from Railroad Ave to 15th Ave NE, ending south from 6th Ave SE to 12th Ave SE
• All vehicles must be removed from these areas prior
Road Closures:
• 8th Ave NE from N 2nd Street to N Washington Street
• Main Street N from 8th Ave NE to 15th Ave NE
Parade Set up and Expected Congestion:
• N 1st Street from 8th Ave NE to 15th Ave NE
• N Lincoln Street from 8th Ave NE to 15th Ave NE
Alternate Routes:
• Use N State Street or Dakota St as well as 387th Ave to connect to 24th Ave NE (Fairgrounds Road) to bypass parade setup and congestion
• 15th Ave NE will be open, but expect delays
