Lynne was raised in Oklahoma by her parents Carl and Ada Morris and grew up with 8 brothers and 1 sister. Along with her husband, Mike McCafferty they have 6 children and 15 grandchildren. Lynne’s parents and grandparents were loving and giving people which allowed her the freedom to experience the benefits of growing up in a loving family. Lynne’s paternal grandmother, Ruby Jewel (McKuin) Morris, was 3/4 Cherokee Indian, and had a unique way of addressing situations and circumstances that incorporated much of what Love and Logic® defines as successful strategies in raising responsible children and creating harmony and balance in families. Lynne was able to experience this and carry it into her future endeavors. She brings to her field, a unique understanding of family and is committed to helping others in finding ways to create families that live in harmony and prepare future generations for success in an uncertain world – believing that "We all are victims of circumstance at some point in our lives, but we all can and will thrive if we understand our responsibility and have the skills to navigate in our world."
~Lynne McCafferty.

WISHLIST WEDNESDAY COMING FROM CREAM CHEESE!

Today, our most needed items are clumping kitty litter and calming treats for our furry friends!

Recently, we've had several types of calming treats donated and we've been using them on new animals that have come into the shelter. We've seen a marked difference in behaviors and stress levels for the new animals after using these treats the first few days after an animal enters the shelter. Dogs like Cream Cheese(pictured here) have benefitted from these snacks. We have several brands linked into the comments. Thanks in advance from all of the furry creatures at the AAHS!

Cream Cheese is a 1 year old Dogo Argentino. She came into the shelter as a stray who was very nervous and scared. She's coming out of her shell and she is a very snuggly dog! Come rescue Miss Cream Cheese soon!

Its a different world that we live in, what worked with us a children doesn't seem to fit today. Parents weren't given a handbook when their children were born -- we didn't need a license to make sure we knew how to handle a child or to guide a child. And just when we think we have it figured out, our children show us that we really don't. This program isn't about making children fit a pattern of perfect behaviors -- Its about parents working to love their children in ways that promotes peace in families, understanding natural logical consequences, respect for self and others. Its a program to give parents life-long and life-changing skills to meet the challenges our kids present. No, we aren't given an instructor's manual -- But Love and Logic Parenting the Love and Logic course is close. Its real life solutions for everyday parenting. Come join us for the class -- you will find out that meeting these challenges are fun, do-able, and provide parents with less stress parenting that leads with love and empathy without causing conflict.
