Yes—to all of this!
As a midwife, I’m not here to funnel you into a specific decision. My goal is to offer options, clearly explain benefits and risks, and honor your choices throughout your pregnancy and birth.
I believe every woman deserves access to respectful care, no matter the type of birth she needs or chooses.
And during birth, a woman should always have the right to say no to anything she is uncomfortable with—and have that choice fully respected.
Some standard things when receiving care through Earthside:
- We ask permission before doing anything
-You always have the right to say NO
- You can always change you mind and choose a different option
-support for your birthing goals
- you can eat and drink during labor
- you can move about as desired
- you can use a birth pool for labor and birth
- you can transfer to a hospital if you desite to (or if it's medically needed)
- your team will be ready with the needed skills and equipment for complications (or transfer to a hospital when needed)
- we have equipment to monitor vitals, IVs, fluids, medications for bleeding, antibiotics, suturing equipment, ECT available for the times they are needed or desired.
