Last week we welcomed a little guy who was in a big hurry! He didn't give us quite as much time as we would have liked.😜 His mama did such a great job making it look so easy and dad was the perfect support. Welcome Earthside little buddy!

What position did you deliver in??
- Most common delivery position, in my practice, is some version of hands and knees.
-Least common is lying on your back.

Please do NOT birth on your back.

With more than 10 years as a certified breastfeeding counselor, I am happy to help mothers reach their breastfeeding goals!

Some things I have learned:


- The only way to make more milk is to REMOVE more milk (forget trendy supplements and lactation cookies, unless you like them 😜)

-Breastfeeding can be hard! Get help from someone with adequate training and who believes you can succeed. 💖

- Latch matters

-Small breasts can make the same amount of milk as large breasts 🤱

- 2-3 Oz per feeding is complete NORMAL for a breastfed baby or pumping session.

- Most hospital growth charts are based on formula fed babies and are not accurate for breastfed ones. (The WHO has a breastfed baby chart)

- Some moms will need to feed 12+ times in 24 hours to satisfy their baby while others may only need 8 feedings. These are variations and are both normal!

- You will never OVER feed a breastfed baby, but you can underfeed them.

- Babies can be crabby because they are hungry, but they can also be crabby because they are over tired, scared, or uncomfortable.

- Breastfeeding is usually WAY easier after the first 2-4 weeks. Stick with it mama ❤️

- Drs and Medical providers have many areas of expertise! However, breastfeeding it NOT included in their training. Reach out to a qualified breastfeeding professional if you are having breastfeeding trouble.

Stop normalizing failure of the system
and calling it choice!!!

Moms aren’t choosing exhaustion, cracked ni***es, poor support, or returning to work 10 days postpartum with no pumping space. They’re doing what they have to, inside a system that makes breastfeeding nearly impossible, then calls it “a choice.”

We don’t need more “fed is best” marketing. We need better policies, postpartum care, lactation support, and workplaces that don’t punish mothers for feeding the way biology intended.

Say it how it is:
Breastfeeding isn’t failing, the system is!
