Donna Shawn Schlaepfer

Donna Shawn Schlaepfer was born in Abilene, TX on August 12, 1964 to Donny Lee Shawn & Helen Cooper Shawn. She married Frank Schlaepfer on October 6, 1983. Donna was a homemaker and loving wife and mother. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank, sister Penny Shawn Williams and her parents and two grandchildren Vicki Rose & Kolby Frank. She is survived by her daughter Mary Schlaepfer Sanders husband Gary of Wichita Falls. Two granddaughters Abby Gail Tetmeyer & Hope Roucloux. One grandson Ricky Tetmeyer. Two sisters Gracie Shawn & husband Jeff of and Mary Shawn both of Albany, TX. One nephew Danny Madison & wife Cindy of Stamford, TX. One niece Amanda Madison Jones & husband Leslie of Clyde, TX. One uncle Cecil Cooper of Abilene, TX, Two aunt's Gracie Shawn Delay of Bridgeport, TX and Barbara Cooper of Albany, TX. Two great nieces, six great nephews four great great nieces and lost of cousins. A private ceremony will be held at a later date.

Bobbie Ward

Bobbie Ward, 94 of Abilene, passed away on May 1st, 2026 in Abilene.

Bobbie was born in Winnsboro, Texas to Jesse and Josphenine Wren on October 28,1931. She married Wilbur Wallace and had two children from that union, Ken Wallace and Tim Wallace. Wilbur preceded her in death in 1972. She later married Bill Ward and had one son from that union, Keith Ward. Bill preceded her in death in 2006. Bobbie worked most of her life with the public until she retired to spend time with her family. She loved being Mamaw to everyone. Bobbie was an avid animal lover and her cat Freddy and her birds were her world the last few years. Bobbie was an amazing cook and loved teaching her great grandkids how to cook. She was a member of Church on the Rock in Abilene.

Bobbie is survived by her sons Tim Wallace and Keith (Tammy) Ward of Abilene. Her grandchildren: Kenny (Melissa) Wallace, Victoria Wallace, Jacklynn Green, Haleigh (Jordan) Lewis, Megan Ward, Morgan Ward, Kyla Lindley, Kaiden Lindley. Great-grandchildren: Ashton (Shaincey) Wallace, Alexis Wallace, Luke Rogers, Logan Rogers, Kenzie Johnson, Kenleigh Ward, Jaycie Lewis. Great-great-grandchild Oakley Wallace. Daughter-in-law Peggy Wallace. Along with many nieces and nephews and extended family.

Bobbie was preceded in death by Wilbur Wallace and Bill Ward, her son Ken Wallace in 2005, and granddaughter Afton Wallace. Her brothers : Cody Wren and Sylvester Wren. Her sisters: Ola Mae Davis, twin Billie Barnett and Betty Day.

A Memorial Service will be held at Church on The Rock on May 16, 2026 at 2:00 pm.

The family of Bobbie wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Hospice of the Big Country and Willowcreek Rehab and Nursing for the amazing care and compassion they gave Bobbie the last year.

In Loving Memory of Cynthia Gomez

July 21, 1966 – May 3, 2026

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Cynthia Gomez, a woman of faith, who entered eternal rest on May 3, 2026. Cynthia has gone on to be with her beloved Lord and Savior, and is now free from all pain and suffering.

Cynthia, Daughter of Herman Gomez Sr. y Maria Josephine Rosado-Rivera, was born on July 21, 1966, in Manhattan, NY, then to Naguabo, Puerto Rico, then later made her home in Texas, where she resided until her passing. She was a woman of strength, love, and resilience who deeply cherished her family and the moments she shared with them.

She leaves behind a legacy of love through her children: Maria I. Perez Gomez, Yusleidy Perez Ybarra, Maria Leyva, Aida Michelle Perez, Reinaldo Carrero Jr., Elijah Olivarez, Destinie & Clarisse Gutierrez.

Cynthia was also a proud and loving grandmother to Allen Gabriel, AlexaMarie, Keyraliz, Mariely, Jaharia, Miguel, Demarcos, Anayelli, Isabella, Marissa, Brayleigh, Brissa, and Mariano, Evertt & Nevin who will continue to carry her memory in their hearts.

Her love, warmth, and spirit will forever be remembered by all who knew her. The family kindly asks for your prayers, support, and compassion during this difficult time.
