Snyder Community Resource Center is partnering with Scurry Adult Welfare and the Scurry County Senior Citizens Center for our annual Beat the Heat fan drive sponsored by TXU Energy!

🗓 Wednesday, June 4th
⏰ 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
📍 Scurry County Senior Citizens Center, 2605 Avenue M , Snyder, TX

This event is open to any Scurry County resident who needs access to cool air this summer. Fans will be available while supplies last.

✔️ ID requested but not required

🏡💙 Move-In Kits for Neighbors 💙🏡

Hey friends! WCTADRC staff sit on the West Texas Homeless Network Education & Communications Committee, and we’re helping share with the community what is needed for our neighbors as they move into their new homes through placement with WTHN.

These move-in kits help provide essential household items to individuals and families starting fresh in stable housing. Items such as kitchen supplies, bedding, bathroom essentials, and cleaning products can make a huge difference during this transition.

🧺 Donations can be dropped off at the locations listed in the flyer below.

Just a reminder for our Monday distribution!

Mitchell County Resource Center will host a FREE drive-through produce distribution in partnership with the Food Bank of West Central Texas

📅 Monday, May 11th
⏰ 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM (or while supplies last)
✔ No registration
✔ Open to ALL Mitchell County residents
🚗 Drive-through only

Vehicles may begin lining up at 8:40 AM. Please do not arrive earlier so we can keep traffic safe and organized.

People with disabilities and their families across our state are being invited to take part in Raising Texas Voices, an important statewide survey led by Baylor University and TCU.

This project is all about listening—understanding what truly matters in the lives and communities of people with disabilities. What you share can help strengthen programs, resources, and supports across Texas.

You can participate if you are 18 or older and are:
• A person with a disability
• A parent or caregiver of someone with a disability
• A sibling of a person with a disability

Please help spread the word! Share this opportunity with parents, siblings, individuals with disabilities, and others in your network. Every community in Texas deserves to be heard.

We’re proud to share for our friends at The Ark Shelter in recognizing Denim Day 💙

Denim Day is more than just wearing jeans — it’s a powerful statement against victim blaming and a show of support for survivors of sexual assault. What began as a response to an unjust court ruling has grown into a global movement for awareness, education, and change.

Join us!! On April 29, 2026 by wearing denim and standing in solidarity. Together, we can raise awareness, support survivors, and continue the fight to end sexual violence.
