Job posting shout out!!

Heritage Births is looking for a PRN nurse birth assistant to help out with some of our births periodically! Ideal candidate is:

***reliable to answer her phone to come attend a birth (even in the middle of the night, since we never know when babies decide to make their arrivals ☺️)
***passionate about assisting with natural unmedicated birth and willing to be trained by Alex to learn more
***BLS and NRP certified (or willing to get these)
***trained in IM injections and IV starts
***lives within 30 or so minutes of Heritage Births
***has another source of income since this wouldn't be enough to be a sole job for someone....it's "fun money" while watching miracles come into the world! 😉😆🥰😍

There were 4 Heritage babies born this past week with some interesting statistics:

-2 of them were repeat clients
-the first 2 were within 48 hours of each other and the second 2 were within 20 hours of each other, but none were ever at the birth center at the same time
-all of them chose to birth in the same Farmhouse birth room
-2 water births and 2 land births
-3 boys and 1 girl
-biggest was 9 #6 and the smallest was 6 #5

So ends our June babies and this midwife is getting some sleep 🥰😴.

The words “failed” do not belong anywhere in conversation about pregnancy, birth or postpartum 🙅🏽‍♀️

We have midwives, hospitals, birth centers, OBGYN’s and MFMs for good reason! In a percentage of cases, they are all very much needed 🧑🏼‍⚕️👩🏽‍⚕️👨🏾‍⚕️ we as birth workers and families are GRATEFUL for these resources being readily available to families when they are truly needed.

The #1 cause of home birth transfers is maternal exhaustion. This is why it is essential to rest, hydrate and nourish your body during early labor. A hospital transfer from a homebirth is by no means a failure. It is the responsible, proper use of the resources that are available to keep families safe. Please don’t place this in a negative light.💜💡

I’m so blessed by this four-peat family of mine (they will be the first family I’ve ever delivered 4 babies for)! I’ve been there to deliver all three of these amazing kiddos, and now their little brother is on the way!! And what’s even more special, they still drive down from Lubbock to have me be part of their birth, even though I moved away after they had their first. Love them!!
