Meet Our Administrator- Anita Evangelista!

Anita’s journey in long-term care started as a purchasing clerk, but it didn’t take long before she was running the show as an office manager—and eventually became a licensed Administrator in 2009. She’s helped open not one, but two nursing homes in South Texas, proving she’s not afraid of a challenge!

She often heard, “No one wakes up one day and decides to work in a nursing home,” but for Anita, it was always more than a job—it was a calling to help make a nursing home feel like home for the residents and staff alike.

During the pandemic, Anita and her husband joked about buying 40 acres in Colorado… but settled on 6 acres in Merkel, TX instead, where she’s now living the dream with 10 dogs, lots of chickens, 1 duck with an attitude, and an ever-growing herd of mini goats!

Shout out to our resident Kathy. She has been here a few years and says her favorite part of being here is the staff. She loves the staff and loves that she gets to shop at Walmart. She knows her limitations and knows we are here for her. We love you too, Kathy.
