Abilene has some very generous businesses and non-profits. Today Steps Recovery felt the love from ABIMAR and Love & Care ministries.

ABIMAR donates cookies for the Christmas Blessing bags each year. Just look at this load of cookies. 3000-9oz bags of shortbread cookies. Simply AMAZING!!! They are so easy to work with and never blink when we ask if they want to participate.

LOVE & CARE MINISTRIES is giving us a HUGE blessing of coordinating the storing of products and then structuring the building of the bags. Their CarePack ministry is powerful. Weekly feeding thousands of children in the Big Country. Matt Reynolds runs the CarePack warehouse and does a fantastic job. He has a real passion for helping others and is a great Christian man. He has been a blessing to us through this process.

Thank you both for your efforts to help bless our "brothers in white" this year. It's gonna be GREAT!!!

It's time again to host the Christmas Blessing bag project like we did last year. If you'd like to help fill the bags, we are giving you a few days head start on registering to help before opening it up to the public. We are limiting the team to 100 ADULTS. The West Texas Dispatch is a new, locally produced program that highlights stories from the Big Country. George Levesque is the host and the show is gaining traction with well crafted stories and things about West Texas you won't hear anywhere else. We are SUPER EXCITED to announce that we now have a really cool website for Steps Recovery. Fuzzy has always wanted a cool, informative site that showcases ALL we do in the Big Country. We now have it. You can see EVERYTHING we do with recovery and prison ministry. I've never built a website but jumped in head first and learned all I could to produce the site.

When you're discussing Steps Recovery with others you can point them to this site and it will really explain who we are and what we do. Consider this our BUFFET of information about Steps!! Please check it out. Thanks!! Chris

Our first ever dove hunt was fantastic. We had a bunch of teams. We didn't know what to expect our first time but we learned A LOT and this event will be even better next year. Lance and Brook are already thinking about next year.

What a blessing to have friends who want to pour into this amazing ministry. Thank you Brook for your tasty burritos. Thank you Lance for setting up the teams for amazing hunting. If you didn't get your limit-you couldn't blame the fields. I've never seen so many birds in my life. Here are a few shots from the day.

Good morning we are out at the Johnson’s ranch for the first ever dove hunt benefiting Steps Recovery. There are a ton of birds at their place. We have a bunch of hunters in the field. It’s a beautiful day so give Brook a call and she’ll give you directions how to get here.

We were SUPER HONORED to learn that Brook and Lance Johnson are hosting a dove hunt on opening day at their ranch. Proceeds will benefit Steps Recovery. How awesome is that!! They just did it out of the goodness of their heart!!!! Check out the details by calling Brook. We'll be out their for breakfast with some Steps SWAG!!!!

MENTOR INTEREST MEETING!

We need YOU to consider being a mentor in our program. Mentors do NOT have to be in recovery. The main requirement of a mentor is to be in a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and to walk alongside someone who is learning to do the same.

Come to the meeting and hear all about how you can participate in this amazing ministry - all are welcome to come with no pressure to make a commitment.

Jeff and Ladean had a great opportunity this morning to share the different facets of STEPS Recovery at FountainGate Fellowship here in Abilene. FountainGate believes in the power of this ministry and wants to not only share the ministry with their congregation, but potentially partner with us in the future. We were SO THANKFUL and EXCITED about this. Thank you FountainGate for this time this morning. It was a great service!
