Hendrick Health's commitment to advanced surgical procedures took another step forward recently.

Congratulations to Brad Kendrick, MD, with Hendrick Clinic Colorectal Surgery, and the Hendrick Medical Center surgical team for recently performing the hospital's first procedure with the new da Vinci 5 surgical system from Intuitive.

MULTIPLE SYSTEMS: Hendrick Medical Center, Hendrick Medical Center South and Hendrick Medical Center Brownwood each have multiple robotic-assisted surgical systems for complex and delicate procedures with precision through very small incisions.

WHY IT MATTERS: Generally, patients undergoing robotic-assisted surgical procedures experience quicker recoveries, shorter hospital stays and less risk of infections.

Get red-y to raise awareness of heart disease on National Wear Red Day this Friday, February 6.

❤️ Why awareness matters: Cardiovascular disease remains the leading cause of death in the United States, despite major advances in treatment and prevention.

❤️ What to do: Know your family history of heart disease. Talk with your provider about regularly monitoring your blood pressure, cholesterol and blood glucose. And wear red on Friday in support of cardiovascular health.
