Today we want to recognize Flight Paramedic - Derrick Boisey on his 9 year Anniversary with Air Evac Lifeteam.

Derrick started his EMS career in 2012. In February of 2017 he joined Air Evac. He has worked at Air Evac 115 and Air Evac 63, where we are still thankful to have him. He brings a wealth of knowledge to the table and has established himself as one of the best in his profession. Over his 9 years, he has helped more than 900 families as a Flight Paramedic.

In his spare time he managed to complete his fixed wing - private pilot license. When he isn't at work, you will find him surrounded by his family.

Derrick, we are proud to have you on the team.

Today we celebrate the 2 year Work Anniversary for Flight Nurse - Jenessa Hambright!!!!

She started her Air Evac journey with AE181 Uvalde on 12 February of 2024 prior to joining us at AE63 in the fall of 2025.

She grew up in a small SETX town, but completed high school in the DFW metroplex. Her aspirations of becoming a nurse started in high school which lead to her attending Texas Tech University and while working as a CNA she achieved her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing. She started her nursing career, as an ICU nurse, in San Antonio, TX in 2019 and worked in various ICU specialties until joining the flight team at AE181 when the base opened.

She met her husband while in college at TTU and were married in 2021, they just welcomed their first child, a beautiful baby girl in December!!

Just prior to her going on maternity leave, she had just completed her 100th patient flight. She adjusted well to the increase in patient flights at AE63. We're proud to have her on the team and are excited to welcome her back following maternity leave!

We are glad to see the sky stopped falling.

Remember to clear your helipad of ice and snow.
We can't land on it if it's not clear from the frozen precipitation that fell this weekend.

The Parking pad and Helipad here at Hendrick Health Center, are clear, with the exception of all the water running off from the melting snow and ice that was cleaned off this morning.

We appreciate everything the Hendrick Grounds Crews do to keep the helipad cleaned off.

We are thankful for them everyday, but today is specifically to recognize them for their service to our communities. We recognize and respect them for their presence both on and off duty.

NATIONAL LAW ENFORCEMENT APPRECIATION DAY
Across the country on January 9th each year, citizens take the lead to show support on National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day.

Law Enforcement Officers of every rank and file have chosen a profession that puts their life on the line every day for their communities. They’ve answered a call to public service that is demanding and often unappreciated.

From local, state, and federal, their duties command dedication. The jobs are often thankless and take them away from their families for long hours. Rarely do they know what their days have in store for them. Often law enforcement are the only paid emergency resource a community has. More often they work in coordination with other local, state, and federal organizations to make communities safer.

On National Law Enforcement Day, we have an opportunity to thank them for their service and offer a token of our appreciation.
