Tonight’s the night! First Friday is here, and these summer nights couldn’t be more beautiful.

Live music from your favorite local bands, a new Gallery show called Selcouth is unveiling tonight, and it’ll be one of the last nights to see David Stroopes Abstract Collection, which has entirely sold out (we love an art show that goes up, and then every piece goes to a welcoming home).

Kindred Tattoo will be offering Henna tattoos, heaps of local shops and businesses will be offering their goods, and Dragon Soul, NobiliTea and others, will be offering some good grub.

Come by and have a ball with us. 6pm to whenever. Wishin y’all a wanderful Friday 💛🧡💚💙💜🩵

Tonight it’s on! Folks will be celebrating all over, and we will be right where we always are, every First Friday - The People’s Plaza.

Live music from your favorite local bands, a new art show in the Welcome Gallery by David Stroope, a community show in The People’s Gallery, a new collection by Yo Martez in honor of the season, a Kids Corner for the young ones to create, all your favorite food trucks, and heaps of local vendors showcasing their creations.

If there’s rain we’ll be inside, and if there’s sun we’ll have a small pool to stay cool. The moods of summer storms are familiar to any creative soul, and we go with the flow.

David is infamous in the hair community. For many years he has brought a fresh approach, an attention to detail, and a love of client, that has made his Salon a destination for those who can choose to go anywhere. Now he has turned his attention to art, and is finally sharing his work with the world.

The People’s Plaza is honored to host the very first Gallery Exhibit for David Stroope Art Studio, featuring an abstract collection. Come by this First Friday and all of July, to enjoy ✨

Everyone deserves a good meal. Come on out to the Plaza today, where Project 325 is offering Free Food to the community. Everyone is welcomed and all are encouraged to come by. It’s a wonderful vibe, and we’d love to see all of us doing more of this 🥰💓❤️‍🔥🫀🏆🍔🥗🙏🧡

Reminder that today is our Community Meal 🙂 We hope to see everyone out at the The People's Plaza from 3-7pm. Everyone is welcome, no sign ups and no exclusions. We're gonna be serving hot dogs & burgers 🍔🌭 Come support our community, get some good food and hang out in a nice, air conditioned building cuz it's hot today!

Tonight it’s goin down in the Hall! 🪩🎉

Do-Over Prom is a chance to get dolled up in your favorite 80’s gear, and come enjoy the Big Dance. Maybe yours was wonderful in youth, maybe it wasn’t, either way is a good reason to make tonight special.

There is a Free Thrift Store in the Plaza, created by Abilene PRIDE Alliance, and everyone is welcomed to come add details to your costume, or build from scratch.

Hosted by Cecilia Ford, the clothing is free, and Tickets are a suggested donation of $25.
