Is that induction medically necessary, or are people just pushing it because it’s a holiday weekend coming up?
It's here! The holiday season is upon us. 🍂 🍁 🍽 🥘 📯 A time of gatherings, joy, friends, family, food and more food, and also a season of labor inductions.
Around the holidays in the United States, the number of inductions of labor soar - undoubtedly not due to necessity, but quite often because of pressure from a provider or what is convenient for them and their schedule.
TRUTH: Babies do not know it’s Thanksgiving. Or Christmas. Or any celebratory event.
Get the facts so that you can make informed decisions about your body and your baby. Letting labor begin on its own is usually safest for pregnant people and babies. You should not feel pressured to induce without medical necessity.

Our Story

Ashley is a certified birth doula and an Abilene native who trained and practiced in Dallas, TX. When the opportunity came for her family to return to the Big Country, they immediately knew that Ashley’s experience as a doula would be a perfect fit for Abilene moms. She is so excited to be back in her hometown supporting local families! She is mother to two world changing children and wife to an amazing husband (who is the only reason she can be an on-call doula and a full-time mom).

Although she has a degree in interior design and architecture, Ashley found her passion as a doula after her own birth experiences. She is fascinated with birth, breastfeeding, cloth diapering, babywearing, pregnancy nutrition, and the postpartum period. Ashley is the knowledgeable guide you want to take on this journey with you. Whether you’re birthing at home or hospital she has experience with natural, epidural, vbac, twin, and cesarean births. With a great support team, anyone can have an amazing birth! Feel free to contact her with any questions or to set up a consultation!
