🎉 Happy Long-Term Care Administrator Week! 🎉

A huge shoutout to our incredible Administrator, Steven Jones! 🇺🇸 As a Marine Corps Veteran, Steven leads with teamwork, discipline, and accountability, creating a culture of support, respect, and compassion.

He reminds us every day that we’re not a production line, we are caregivers, community builders, and stewards of someone’s home. ❤️

But Steven also knows how to have fun! From leading a day of music and the Cupid Shuffle, to hosting “Pie the Administrator Day”, and even cooking a full Thanksgiving dinner for his team, he goes above and beyond for both staff and residents.

Thank you, Steven, for your dedication, heart, and leadership! 🙌

At just 50 years old, Melanie Thomas came to Deer Meadows in 2021 unable to feel her legs and fully dependent on staff for her care. Overnight, everything changed.

But Melanie refused to give up!!!

After months of therapy, she progressed from total dependence to independently navigating the halls in her wheelchair. Though she faced a major setback that left her bedbound for nearly two years, she started again, building strength with every transfer, every stand, every second on her feet.

In June 2025, she took her first step between the parallel bars. Shaky. Uncertain. Extraordinary. Soon after, she graduated to a walker, the steps slow, but completely her own.

When asked what kept her going, she said, “My family. I can’t wait to see my grandson.”

Her journey is proof that resilience, determination, and support make all the difference. And she’s not finished yet. 💙
