The guidelines for the COVID-19 vaccine have changed. It is available for unvaccinated patients, adults 65+, or those with the following risk factors:
-Cancer
-Cerebrovascular Disease
-Chronic kidney, liver, or lung disease
-Cystic Fibrosis
-Dementia or other neurological conditions including Parkinson's Disease
-Diabetes (Type 1 or 2)
-Disabilities including birth defects, intellectual disabilities, spinal cord injuries, Down Syndrome
-Heart Conditions (CAD, Cardiomyopathy, and **possibly high blood pressure)
-Blood disorders (sickle cell and thalassemia)
-HIV
-Immunocompromised (including cancer, steroids, and transplants)
-Mental health conditions (depression and schizophrenia)
-Overweight and obese (BMI over 25 qualifies as overweight)
-Pregnancy
-Smoker
If you have one or more of the following conditions, you should receive the COVID-19 vaccine.
