God Called Another
Widner Angel Home
Man and wife they brought into this world
13 boys and girls
Each one they were proud of,
the apples of their eyes.
God began to call his children home early
First, the twins. Then lil Johnny.
Then he called for Papaw Woodrow, knowing he was tired and hurting.
It was awhile, but this one was even harder to bear.
The backbone of the family Mamaw Blanche.
Lord knows she was a strong woman
Raising kids and grandkids, working the family farm.
She was the heart of this Widner Clan.
The family struggled, having lost both parents.
This Widner family though stood tall together through it all.
It wasn't long before we were grieving again, we said goodbye to Uncles Cate and Cliff.
The hardest year for me was the year my dad who had grown weary and tired from fighting cancer traveled home. It wasn't long after dad passed that more Widners were called home Cousins Ester, Ab, and Minnie joined the rest of of our family tree.
God chose aunt Betty to bring home next, for he knew she was the glue that kept the family close. Grieving for her sister, it wasn't long before aunt Sally gave in to her health and sadness.
God kept calling until he had 8 more angels who had passed thru those gates.
God brought them all home, a place where pain and suffering was no longer felt, just the love and love of family.
Those pearly gates of heaven are said to be paved with gold, a sight that I hope to see someday. 8 more beautiful Angel's from our family have been called home to walk those streets paved of gold..
I can almost hear the the joy as they all were reunited with those whom had gone before them.
It has been a few years,
honestly though not long enough.
No more pain, no more sickness or sadness. I am sure they are all at peace drinking coffee, sharing stories and enjoying being together.
Those of us still here on earth
are mourning the loss of so many loving angels. All of the sons and 2 of the daughters have joined their parents. Bonnie and Charlie are all that remain of the 13 children of Woodrow and Blanche Widner.
Spouses, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren...
All holding to the good times, memories and the love of our Widner family.
We share the memories, share our legacy.
we will remind the future generations how special our angels were.
We love you all and will see you again soon.
