Congratulations Megan Lester, PCM from the Abingdon, VA office, for passing the CHPN exam!
The first Registered Nurse certification exam was offered in 1994 and awarded the credential CRNH (Certified Registered Nurse Hospice) to those who successfully passed the exam. In 1999, the examination was expanded to include palliative care, and successful candidates are now awarded the credential CHPN® (Certified Hospice and Palliative Nurse).
Currently, there are nearly 12,000 nurses who hold the CHPN® credential. HPCC is the only organization that offers specialty certification for all levels of hospice and palliative care professionals. Each certification is valid for four years, after which the professional may renew their credential. Please congratulate Megan on this accomplishment and her ongoing efforts to demonstrate her professional commitment to safe, ethical, and evidence-based end-of-life care.
