Removing a tick safely is important! Common tick removal myths, such as using Vaseline, alcohol, nail polish, or heat (matches) to make them "back out," are ineffective and dangerous. These methods often irritate the tick, causing it to regurgitate saliva and gut contents into your bloodstream, which significantly increases the risk of transmitting diseases.
