Increased physical activity may have several health benefits for individuals with moderate to severe traumatic brain injury ( ). Scientists at our Institute recently published a protocol for a two-stage randomized controlled trial of the GetUp&Go remote, mHealth-enhanced intervention. As the clinical trial concludes, this publication highlights the advantages the GetUp&Go treatment, which has been designed to help to circumvent difficulties with initiation, persistence, and memory that interfere with the ability to develop healthful habits and routines following msTBI. 🧠

Our NIH-funded Cognition and Action Lab, Directed by Dr. Laurel Buxbaum, studies the interface between cognitive representations of objects, tasks, and action planning. Dr. Buxbaum and her team aim to better understand conceptual representations and how these representations may be disrupted after stroke, phantom limb pain after amputation, and primary progressive aphasia.
