"Robin Hope was born at 33 weeks 4 days at 2 pounds 7.5 ounces due to IUGR. She was in Abington’s (phenomenal) NICU for 63 days due to slow growth. We knew ahead of time that our child was going to be in the NICU following birth, but knowing didn’t make our NICU journey any easier.

Our daughter’s stay was much longer than predicted (63 days vs an estimated 14). She did not get to spend her first holiday season at home like we thought she would. Despite this sadness, the NICU staff gave us peace of mind that she was in the right place for her to learn how to be resilient and strong. To those currently navigating the NICU, you are not alone in your valid (and often conflicting) feelings.

She’s 9 months now and still gets mistaken for a newborn by strangers all the time. As they said in the NICU, she’s small but she’s old! Our girl is making strides and doing new things everyday - she is our rainbow that came from a long storm." Julie Schneeble, NICU Mom
