🌞 Coffee, Conversations & Community Connection 🌿

This past Saturday, the Women’s Center for Healing & Transformation hosted a powerful “Gathering Grounds” event at Roots Plants & Coffee in Old Town Slidell—and it was nothing short of soul-stirring! We had about 10 Women show up and fellowshipped with Women who were just coming to get coffee!✨

We gathered in sisterhood, laughter, and truth. We shared stories, sipped coffee or tea, and talked about what matters most was the healing, growth, and being seen. From wellness and mental health to caregiving and women's health topics, we heard your voices and we are listening. 💬💕

👥 Many found us through friends and this very newsletter. You showed up ready to connect, contribute, and co-create.

💡 Your ideas for future gatherings? Incredible.
🕰️ Your favorite meeting time? Saturday mornings.
📍Your venue suggestions? Noted and exciting!

And when we asked what made you feel welcome? One of you said simply, “Feeling welcomed at the meeting.” That’s the energy we will continue to lead with. 💫

✨ What's Next?
We’re already planning our next women-centered events, and we’re looking for:

Women’s health workshop facilitators
New community partners & cozy venues
Volunteers who want to make a difference

📬 Be sure to stay subscribed to our newsletter, and if you're ready to join the movement, email us at info@womenscenterforhealing.org.

Grounding Together: Reflections from Gathering Grounds

There’s magic in showing up just as we are—no agenda, no pretenses, just real talk and a favorite beverage.

Our first Gathering Grounds: Coffee & Conversation at Tandem Coffee & Cocktails in Old Mandeville was exactly that: a space where women shared stories, voiced needs, and planted seeds for what this community can grow into. You reminded us that healing isn’t always a formal workshop—sometimes, it’s the laughter between sips, the ‘me too’ moments, and the collective sigh of feeling seen.

Here’s what’s blooming from your insights:

- More Gathering Grounds meetups (keep an eye out—we’ll share dates soon!).
- Exciting new programs shaped by your suggestions (stay tuned for sneak peeks!).

To everyone who came: Thank you for your courage and candor.
To those who couldn’t make it: There’s a seat saved for you next time!

The ground is fertile. Let’s keep growing together.

With gratitude,
WCHT Leadership Council

We've Made It To April!!!

We’ve made it to April, and for many of us, the weight of the world feels heavier than ever. The news, the injustices, the constant push to keep going—it’s a lot. And yet, here you are. Still showing up. Still finding ways to love, to heal, to dream. (SNAPS for you! “In our Elle Woods voice)

This past week, we’ve gathered in spaces of care, held one another through grief and laughter, and reminded ourselves that healing isn’t a final destination—it’s a practice. Some days, it looks like deep rest. Other days, it’s movement, or breath, or simply choosing not to carry what isn’t yours. However it shows up for you, know that your well-being matters. Not just so you can keep pushing forward, but because YOU matter, Sister!

In a world that often demands more than it gives, tending to yourself is an act of radical love and defiance. So please, be gentle with yourself this week. Put your hand on your heart and remember: You are needed. You are loved. And you don’t have to do this alone.

As Phylicia Rashad recently reminded us, remember, “Light is not heavy.”

Be light, Sisters. Be light.

With love and light,
The Women’s Center for Healing & Transformation

Embracing Ethical Power:
Right Use of Power in Therapy
In the realm of helping professions, the concept of power often carries negative connotations, stemming
from personal experiences of abuse and oppression. However, what if our aversion to power
inadvertently limits our ability to facilitate positive change, both for ourselves and our clients?

Imagine if we were to redefine power as a force for ethical good and collective well-being. The Right Use of
Power TM supports therapists to harness their inherent power responsibly, fostering a nurturing
environment conducive to client growth and healing. Join us for an immersive workshop experience that
delves into the intricacies of power dynamics, encompassing five distinct types of power and the
nuances of up-power and down-power interactions.

Through engaging activities and heartfelt
discussions, participants will embark on a journey of self-discovery, exploring the intersection of power
and compassion in therapeutic practice.
