hbotnewsnetwork BREAKING: HBOT Legislation for Veterans
Moves Forward
Big news out of Washington-Rep. Congressman Greg
Murphy, MD (R-NC) has advanced a bipartisan bill to expand access to Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy ( ) for veterans suffering from and traumatic brain injury ( ).
The Veterans National Traumatic Brain Injury Treatment Act
(H.R. 1336) just passed the House VA Health Subcommittee and aims to launch a 5-year pilot program within the VA system to provide HBOT as an alternative, life-changing therapy for those who’ve exhausted traditional options.
HBOT promotes brain healing by flooding damaged tissues with oxygen-offering renewed hope to veterans who need it most.
Supported by both parties and endorsed by veterans’ groups nationwide, this bill marks a critical step toward innovative, non-invasive treatment options for our heroes.
Follow HBOT News for updates on the bill’s progress and
how this therapy is reshaping the future of veteran care.

hmshbot Did you know senescent cells—aka “zombie cells”
—accumulate in our bodies as we age, causing inflammation and tissue damage?
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) has been shown to help reduce these harmful cells and support cellular rejuvenation, making it a powerful tool for healthy aging.
Here’s how HBOT supports anti-aging:
• Cellular Repair - HBOT boosts your body’s natural healing process. With more oxygen, your tissues regenerate faster-supporting skin cell turnover and a fresher, more youthful glow.
• Improved Blood Flow - HBOT enhances circulation, delivering essential nutrients and hydration to skin cells for a healthy, radiant complexion.
• Reduced Inflammation - HBOT helps calm inflammation, leading to smoother skin and improved overall tissue health.

chronic illness, how do I improve my health using hyperbaric oxygen therapy and are there differences than a healthy person?
the steps are similar (if not the same).
steps for a chronic illness are LARGER ,more often, longer, and more intense in terms of the therapies.
All things considered , they are very similar steps. what this comes down to is decreasing inflammation and increasing mitochondrial function.

When our body process glucose, fatty acids, and ketones, we have to get those molecule into the mitochondria cell ( to the electron transport chain for the processing of ATP.)
The result of food digestion is called NADH and FADH2.
Both NADH /FADH2 move from Krebs cycle towards the electron transport chain, to start to unload their molecules of energy and start processing ATP.
When we create an abundant concentration of electrons at the raw material phase of processing, we can push those electrons down each step.
NAD or NAD precursors are being put into the system, and that is step one in the electron transport chain.
We make sure that we’re putting a large amount of concentration of energy at the beginning of that process so that it has the gradient it needs to go down each step of the way.

As posted by Dr Sonners HBOT USA - Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) could absolutely be used as a performance enhancing tool as long as it is done right.
Let me explain.
On the performance side, we really don’t want to activate the parasympathetic system. Right? In the parasympathetic, we’re very calm and relaxed.
In most sports, that’s the opposite of what we’re trying to create as we’re stepping into the competition.
So for that reason, I would tend to use performance sessions much shorter in length, 20 to 30 minutes, certainly no more than 40 minutes.
I find that 45 minutes to an hour is enough to really trigger that parasympathetic relaxation state, but 40 minutes or less doesn’t trigger and allows that athlete to jump back into sympathetic as they’re approaching competition time.
So for the day of the competition, shorter sessions is definitely my preterred mode of use for HBOT.
In the case that the competition is later in the day, I might do multiple shorter sessions. So 2 or 3, 20 to 30 minute sessions during the day leading up to the competition.
Here we are just building some oxygen, tapering down, building some oxygen etc.
We get a few rounds of that so that we get 60 minutes of treatment, but broken up into three short rounds leading up to the competition.
This will still allow that athlete to have plenty of increased oxygen to be used as that performance enhancing tool and keep them out of the parasympathetic state.

My 5 favorite things to do while in for an HBOT session :
1- braintap 2- read 3-sleep 4- stretch 5- breathing exercises. My suggestion to anyone who comes in for a HBOT session and asks what should i do or bring with me into the HBOT, is less is more. This is your time to recover or help healing, or have some me time. If you are sending emails and taking calls and texting the whole time it’s in my mind deterring from your session.

Stacking: this is something that we suggest our patients do when trying to recover/heal/treat …. This can be a combination of two or three different modalities. In this case I like to use a program called braintap while inside of hyperbaric oxygen chamber. Stacking is something that I encourage patients to do a lot of, but more often when they are in a slower time of year. Less travel, activities, work, ect…
There are endless possibilities with stacking! My top choices to combine are :
Braintap.
HBOT
Flowpresto
Bio zone
Infrared
Warm / cold tub
Grounding mat or sheets for your bed
Fasting
Breathing Exercise

When Can You Stop Doing HBOT?
Taken from Dr Jason Sonners and HBOT USA clinic we here at intuitive wellness use HBOT USA as a guide for our protocols. Can I quit Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) and still keep the benefits I have received?
It depends on what type of health issues you are treating.
If you are recovering from a traumatic event and you are able to get to a state of being healed, you get to keep that! You can remain symptom free once you healed.
However, if you are seeking treatment for a chronic condition, it’s likely that HBOT will need to be continued to see results continue.

Does the benefits of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy
(HBOT) end when your session ends, or does it continue after you have finished a treatment?
The short answer to that includes, how much pressure you were being exposed to, what LPM of oxygen of oxygen you were breathing in, and how long did you stay in the chamber.
Next, different areas if your body utilize oxygen at different rates. You can certainly guess somewhere between 4 -12 hours.
On the long term benefits, is a result of repetitive hyperbaric exposures, you have a lot of really long lasting effects.
How long do those last?
we don’t know the full answer to this, but in research, we certainly know that in a lot of cases you can start to see certain improvements over the course of treatment. Even when you stop therapy, there is very often at least an extra 4 to 6 weeks of continued improvement before the benefits start to decrease
