Now for the heart of the team Kili, our Director of Nursing ❤️

The one who keeps it all going with compassion, strength, and endless dedication. Thank you for leading with such a caring heart and for everything you do each and every day for our residents, families, and staff. We are so lucky to have you as part of the Gold Crest family! 🩺✨

Kili has been a dedicated part of the Gold Crest team for the past eight years and has served as our Director of Nursing for nearly four years. Her leadership, vision, and commitment to both residents and staff have played a key role in shaping the care and culture at Gold Crest.
Kili earned her nursing degree in 2008 from the University of Nebraska Medical Center. She began her career at Madonna Rehabilitation, where she built a strong clinical foundation. She later worked as a traveling wound care nurse, gaining valuable experience before finding her home in long-term care at Gold Crest. Kili is board certified as a Clinical Wound Specialist, a Certified Rehabilitation Nurse, and Director of Nursing Services Certified. She is currently working towards being certified as a Gerontological Nurse.

Fun fact on how Kili ended up at Gold Crest: Kili had stopped in Gold Crest while doing wound rounds, and was asked by the DON at that time, Michelle Denker, if she was looking for a job. Just the night before, Kili was told by her husband that she needed to look for a job that didn’t require so much traveling and was closer to home (Wilber) due to the fact they once again had a small child at home. Sometime timing works out just right!
Over the years, Kili has developed a true passion for long-term care. She values the relationships built with residents and their families and finds joy in the connections and daily interactions that make this work so meaningful. The smiles, stories, and moments shared with residents are what continue to inspire her every day.
Outside of work, Kili is a proud mom of five children and a grandmother to six, with one more on the way. Life is busy and full as she spends much of her time cheering on her 10-year-old at dance, attending grandkids’ activities, and enjoying time with her family. She also enjoys being part of a book club and writing for her blog.
As a leader, Kili is committed to supporting her team, improving care processes, and creating a positive environment where both staff and residents can thrive.
We are grateful for Kili’s leadership, dedication, and the heart she brings to Gold Crest each and every day!

Meet Terese Luther, RN, Night Charge Nurse!

Terese recently joined Gold Crest as our full-time night charge nurse, and we are so glad to have her on our team! Fun fact - Terese was actually one of our state surveyors last year, and she must have seen something special here because now she’s part of the Gold Crest family! She brings a strong clinical background, years of experience, and has fit in seamlessly with our team.
Terese has been a nurse since 1985 and has seen just about every change in healthcare over the years, including the days of all-white uniforms and the classic (and not-so-comfortable) nursing caps!
Her experience spans across many settings, including large and small hospitals, LTACHs, skilled nursing facilities (her favorite), hospice, home health, the State of Nebraska, and private home care. With such a diverse background, Terese brings a wealth of knowledge and perspective to her role.
Her personal motto is: “Never stop learning.” - a mindset that continues to guide her throughout her career.
Outside of work, Terese is a proud mom of three children and a grandmother to four granddaughters, who, according to her, can do no wrong (and might occasionally get Dilly Bars for breakfast!). She lives near Filley and previously lived in Syracuse, where her daughters still reside. She is originally from Montana.
We are so thankful for the experience, positivity, and dedication Terese brings to our team!

Meet Wendi Gushard, RN, BSN, MDS Coordinator!

Wendi joined Gold Crest as a day shift charge nurse and quickly demonstrated strong leadership, determination, and a drive to do things the right way. She has recently stepped into the role of MDS Coordinator and has transitioned into it with ease. Wendi is a quick learner who takes the time to educate herself and ensure accuracy in everything she does. She has become a valuable resource to our nurse leadership team, and it has been exciting to watch her grow in this role!
Wendi began her healthcare journey by earning her CNA license in 2017 and has worked in direct patient care ever since. She completed her prerequisites at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln and went on to attend the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Lincoln, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2020.
Graduating at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, Wendi quickly developed resilience and adaptability while working long 12-hour shifts in N95s, PAPRs and full PPE. She has now been a registered nurse for six years.

Prior to joining Gold Crest, Wendi worked at CHI Health St. Elizabeth on the progressive care unit, where she advanced into a charge nurse role and earned certifications including ACLS, stroke, trauma, and others. In 2023, she returned to her hometown and joined Gold Crest, where she has continued to grow her passion for long-term care.
Wendi enjoys LTC because of the meaningful relationships she builds with residents. She strives to make them feel cared for like family, focusing on the small but important things like relieving pain, preventing pressure injuries, easing anxiety, and helping residents feel safe and comfortable. Being able to see the direct impact of that care every day is incredibly rewarding to her.

Outside of work, Wendi stays active when she can, enjoys golfing, and spends most of her time with her busy 13-month-old son, who keeps her on her toes. She is married to her high school sweetheart, and they have been together for 13 years (which she is pretty sure is the correct number, or she might be in trouble for getting it wrong!)

We are so grateful for Wendi’s leadership, dedication, and the passion she brings to our team every day!

Meet Kaily Anstey, RN, Day Charge Nurse on Weekends!

Kaily has been a valued part of the Gold Crest team for seven years, serving as a weekend charge nurse every third weekend. She has one of the kindest hearts, and both residents and staff absolutely love her. Kaily brings a positive, happy presence to every shift and handles the stress that weekends can bring with grace and calmness. We are excited that she will be cross-training in additional areas soon and may be seen more on day shift! We are lucky to have her!
Kaily has always had a heart for helping others, & has been a nurse for 14 years— primarily in long-term care and rehabilitation. She has been with Gold Crest for 7 years this year and is thankful to be part of such a dedicated and caring team. She has also worked in Labor & Delivery, where she cherished the opportunity to help welcome new life into the world. Kaily feels deeply that nursing is her calling and is passionate about caring for others in meaningful, lasting ways.

She especially values the relationships she builds in long-term care, & appreciates getting the time to truly get to know each resident and honor their unique stories, rich histories, and life experiences—something she believes is a special and rewarding part of her work.

Outside of her career, Kaily is a proud mom to three energetic boys—Sawyer (9), Keaton (8), and Malcolm (5)—and has been with her husband, Josh, for 20 years, celebrating 11 years of marriage this year. Her family also has a cat named Louie, who thinks he’s king of the house. Life is full and joyful, often spent keeping up with her boys & all of their activities. Spending time with her family is one of her favorite things, whether they are traveling, making memories on new adventures, playing games, or simply spending cozy nights snuggled up together with pizza and a movie.

When she finds a quiet moment, Kaily enjoys getting lost in a good book, playing games, doing puzzles, and getting a good bike ride in.
We are so grateful for Kaylee’s compassion, positivity, and the calm strength she brings to our team!

Welcome Back, Billie Thompson, RN, PT Charge Nurse!

We are so excited to have Billie back as part of the Gold Crest team! Billie previously worked with us as a night charge nurse during the early days of COVID, bringing strong leadership during a very challenging time. She later left to pursue travel nursing and has now returned, working with us on weekends as the day charge nurse and PRN. In addition to her role here, she also works in home health. We are incredibly grateful to have her back supporting our team!
Billie was born in Omaha, Nebraska and has been a nurse for an impressive 35 years. Throughout her career, she has brought dedication, experience, and compassion to every role she has held.
She is a proud mom and an even prouder “Mimi,” and her family is very important to her. Outside of work, Billie enjoys reading, traveling, cooking, and camping.
We are thankful for the experience, heart, and leadership Billie continues to bring to Gold Crest!
