This gives a whole new meaning to the term BURNOUT 🔥 For most well-intentioned people, they don't know when they are taking advantage of others in the workspace. We rely on our peers to set and maintain their own boundaries as a necessary part of career/team building to ensure everyone is respected and accommodated.
Burnout begins to happen when, despite frequent attempts to maintain reasonable and necessary boundaries, colleagues continue to ignore and push those boundaries. Burnout isn't always from an excessive work load. You may love your job, but are exhausted by spending your time in a constant state of advocating for yourself and not being heard.
Are you a boundary pusher? Or an upholder? Think about it and make an effort this month to check in with your team!

We recently lost our beloved pup of many years... grief comes in waves and in many forms. We learn valuable coping skills from the losses in our lives, but it doesn't make it any easier or remove the need to grieve.
Grief is not just from losing the people we love in our lives and we should never discount other losses... the loss of a pet, job loss, hair loss from chemotherapy, financial loss, loss of a limb from diabetes, loss of a friend or family member due to distance or disagreements, loss of a breast due to breast cancer, loss of a lifestyle you once had, etc.
Take the time you need to grieve and in your own way. And, if you need additional help, please do not hesitate to reach out.

It's National Social Media Day and a therapy takeover on 👋🏻 While we appreciate social media for all of the positive things we can benefit from like staying connected to friends and family, networking, supporting small businesses, etc., it can also cause a lot of anxiety and worsten certain emotional, behavioral, and mood disorders.
Here are some things you can do to make sure your social media engagement stays healthy:
1. Unfollow people who do not bring you joy. Engage with people who make you feel empowered, informed or inspired.
2. Keep your social circle small and personal. Think real-life friends, not strangers.
3. Limit your time on social media. Set a timer. When it's up, get up and do something to live in the moment and not in other people's moments.

Compassion fatigue oftentimes happens to those caring for another person experiencing emotional trauma and chronic illness. It can result from the desire to help relieve the suffering of their loved one, but feeling frustration from not being able to quickly enough. It is also known as vicarious or secondary trauma, referencing the way that other people’s trauma can become their own.
If you are a caregiver and experiencing the signs of compassion fatigue, seek help immediately. It can feel like a lonely and desolate place and not only hurt you, but also the loved one you want to care for.
