Happy Wellness Wednesday!

Today we are focusing on financial literacy and responsibility on money matters, plus the ability to plan, budget, save and enjoy your resources.

Talking about money and facing your financial reality can be a big source of anxiety for people but if you face it, create a budget and maintain it, the positives highly outweigh the negatives. And if this aspect of your life is in check, it takes pressure off other aspects on the wheel.

Another aspect of the wheel we want to focus on is Environmental which embodies community awareness and involvement, plus a consciousness and commitment that contributes to well-being. To be happy and well rounded, there must be some awareness of your environment and some involvement even if it's just saying hi to neighbors, keeping your part of your neighborhood clean, watching out for others who work with you, or joining the potluck in your office. Feeling like a part of your environment leads to overall wellness more than you would think.

If you have questions about any of the parts of the Wellness Wheel please reach out:

Every year, the week leading up to Father's Day is National Men's Health Week. The goal of National Men's Health Week is to increase awareness of men's health issues on a global level and to encourage institutions to develop health policies that meet the specific needs of men, boys and their families.

If the man or men in your life have been putting off their health, as many do, encourage them this week to schedule those appointments and show up for themselves and their family.

If you have a guy in your life that is having a hard time taking control of his health please reach out, I am here to help.

All of us would like to be healthier, eat better, be more spiritual and have a more balanced life... in essence, for our overall wellness to be better.

Well today is the day to honor that as it's Global Wellness Day.

Take the time today to do something that has been on your to do list or goals list that will improve your overall wellness. That may be meditating, working out, going for a long walk, picking up a healthy cookbook or sitting down and reading something that feeds your soul.

Whatever you choose to do, have a happy Global Wellness Day!

It's Wednesday and you know what that means... It's Wellness Wheel Wednesday!

The next two aspects to touch on are the Intellectual and Physical components.

The Intellectual piece of the wheel refers to applying critical thinking skills and continuous learning to analyze situations, assess options and solve problems. we all need to be intellectually stimulated to feel good.

The Physical component is big because, as we all know, movement directly affects so many other parts of the wheel. It's so important to understand your body and its signals, and how managing diet, sleep, exercise and stress can protect and sustain it. The physical component is difficult because we all know what we should be doing but it isn't always easy. This is where I can help in creating healthy habits and be an accountability partner through your wellness journey.

Again, if you have questions about the Wellness Wheel or any specific component please do not hesitate to DM me or reach out:

Happy Pride Month!

Many people think that Pride Month is just a glitter and rainbow filled month of parties but it is so much more than that. The catalyst for Pride Month was actually the 1969 Stonewall Riots. These days, however, the LGBTQ community around the world uses Pride Month as a time to get together and celebrate how far we've all come in supporting the LGBTQ+ community. It's an opportunity—and an obligation—to reflect on why our LGBTQ+ community matters and what we can do to support them.

“It’s a time to recommit to the work that must still be done to achieve equality. It’s a time to reflect on the progress we've made as a community and celebrate those who made this progress possible.” -Joe English, founder of Hope in a Box.

If you feel compelled to contribute and support the LGBTQ+ community, do research into organizations and businesses in your area that you can become involved with.

I recently spoke for a Breast Cancer Support group webinar for Hope in the City and will be releasing a support series from it for YOU. Part 1 addresses the 5 Stages of Grief.

Even if you are not a cancer fighter/survivor, it's important to understand one anothers' experiences and many of the emotions associated with the grief and life transitioning of fighting illness apply to other areas of life as well.

Please do not hesitate to reach out if you or a loved one needs support.

Happy Wellness Wheel Wednesday!

The first two components of the wellness wheel that we are going to focus on are the Emotional and Spiritual components.

Emotional encompasses coping effectively with challenges, maintaining healthy relationships, building confidence, control and resiliency. Being open with emotions but also not overly emotional in your decision making etc.

The Spiritual component may not be what you think, it isn't religion but rather having a sense of purpose and meaning in life, including personal beliefs and values that contribute to inner peace.

We want to make sure that both your emotions and spirituality are in check and accessible to contribute to your overall wellness.
