Altrazeal® is a patented powder dressing specially engineered to cover and protect the wound and to provide an ideal moist wound healing environment that supports cellular function and tissue repair. Its non-resorbable, sterile granules aggregate when hydrated with saline to form a moist, flexible, oxygen permeable film that fits and seals the wound. Powder may be added from time to time and secured with simple secondary dressings for more exudative wounds, without requiring primary dressing changes. DATA RELEASE: Reducing Nursing Workload

A study evaluating data from six patient cohorts (n= 76) showed that using Altrazeal significantly reduced dressing change frequency and associated times compared to standard of care. All wounds healed with no adverse events.

✅ 83% fewer mean dressing changes (4.8x/week → 0.8x/week)
✅ 89% reduction in mean nursing time (17 mins/week → 2.6 hrs/week)
✅ Improved efficiency without compromising healing outcomes

These results highlight how Altrazeal brings the potential simplify wound management and establish a new SOC to enhance patient care and alleviate the burden on healthcare providers.

DATA RELEASE: ALTRAZEAL USED TO HEAL SPORTS INJURY

A 15-year-old male with a friction burn from playing lacrosse was treated with Altrazeal. Altrazeal was applied to a painful 12x5 cm leg wound that healed in eight days with one application and one top off. The patient experienced no pain post application.

DATA RELEASE: Quality Improvement Project
Innovative Approach to Treating Complex Colorectal Wounds

At the Symposium on Advanced Wound Care (SAWC) Spring 2025 meeting, a study conducted by Dr. John Monson from Northwell Health and Ron Sotomayor from Advent Health presented a multi-patient case series on the use of Altrazeal for managing complex colorectal wounds.

Study Results:

✅ 78% estimated reduction in dressing changes
✅ Reduced patient-reported pain
✅ Improved healing trajectories (mean time to closure: 18.8 weeks)
✅ Enhanced quality of life for patients with fistulas, peristomal complications, and dehisced wounds

TRAUMATIC WOUND WITH NECROTIZING FASCIITIS: CLINICIAN TESTIMONIAL

Altrazeal was used successfully for the treatment of a complex, infected traumatic wound with necrotizing fasciitis.

The patient was being treated by Dr. Jagan Mohan, who is dedicated to treating patients from underserved communities. Over time, the patient ran out of funds to continue his treatment, while still bearing a painful and infected wound. Fortunately, a member of our team, Vijay SK, was made aware of this situation and supplied Altrazeal on a charitable basis.

Thank you Dr. Jagan Mohan for treating Mr. Sharma and creating this video to share a novel method for treating complex traumatic wounds.
