One of the first recommendations we have for our toddler and preschooler families is to stop asking questions and try to use more statements.

💜Our goal is to help our families “model the language” that we are targeting for receptive and/or expressive vocabulary as well as increase social communication skills.

💚One of the biggest questions we all ask is “What is that?” So to help our families think of different things to say instead of “What’s that?” we created this cute visual💚💜

If you have a child and you need help or have questions about their speech and language skills please DM us or email us at amanda@kidspeakdallas.com —- we are here to help!!

Our Friendship Camp Beginners Group #1 is going to be a blast!

This group will meet every Monday and Wednesday from 9:00 - 11:30 from Monday, June 1, 2026 through Wednesday, July 22, 2026.

Ou Preschool Group supports children ages 5-8 with language delays, language disorders, autism, and related developmental differences. This group is great for our GLP learners as well as our kids that may need a little more sensory support! 💜💚

We use the SCERTS® Model while integrating evidence-based programs from The Hanen Center®, including More Than Words and It Takes Two to Talk, to nurture meaningful communication, connection, and confidence.

Through fun, play-based activities, children build skills in:

✨ Receptive & expressive language
✨ Social communication & interaction
✨ Play & social play
✨ Classroom readiness
✨ Emotional regulation
✨ And so much more

Each session is thoughtfully structured to feel safe, engaging, and joyful:

🎈 Unstructured play – child-led activities to support regulation and relationship-building
🎵 Circle time – music, themes, and hands-on learning
🧩 Centers – structured & flexible play with therapists and peers
🏃 Movement & specials – gym, sensory times, music, and activities
🍎 Daily routines – snack, bathroom, transitions, and more
🤩And more!

Our goal is simple: help children learn, connect, and thrive — all while having FUN 💜💚

We can't wait for the summer......our Friendship Camp 3 Group is going to be something truly special this summer. 💜

There is nothing better than watching kids build confidence, discover connections, and experience the joy of friendship in a space designed just for them. This group is thoughtfully created for children who are still developing comfort and skill in social situations — kids who may want friends, but aren’t always sure how to navigate conversations, group dynamics, flexibility, or emotional moments that naturally come with peer interactions.

Throughout the summer, we will practice building and maintaining friendships, understanding others’ perspectives, sharing their own ideas, collaborating, and strengthening emotional regulation — all within a playful, supportive, and highly engaging environment.

🕘 Mondays & Wednesdays | 9:00 – 11:30 AM
📅 June 1 – July 22
👧🧒 Ages 7–10

Friendship Camp 3 is often a wonderful fit for children who may have:
✔ ADHD
✔ Autism
✔ Social Communication Differences
✔ Language Differences
✔ Social skill, Emotional Regulation & Executive Functioning Weaknesses

Our sessions are grounded in evidence-based frameworks including SCERTS® and Social Thinking®, while always keeping the experience fun, dynamic, and kid-centered.

Each week kids will enjoy:

🎨 Creative art and hands-on activities
🎲 Games and cooperative play
🏃 Movement, play, and gym time
🌈 Weekly themes and shared projects
🤝 Opportunities to plan, problem-solve, and connect

Every activity is intentionally designed to nurture social growth, flexibility, self-awareness, and confidence — while making sure kids are genuinely having fun and feeling successful.

We can’t wait for another summer of connection, laughter, and growth 💜💚

Spots are limited -- our goal is to have 4 girls and 4 boys! If this group fills don't worry we have more Friendship Camps this summer!

Happy Tuesday! It is time for another “Tipful Tuesday”…….today’s tip is to Model Your Language!

When we model our kids language we are using the words that we think they want to say by observing their nonverbal language. For example……

💚If your child is reaching for a toy then you would model the toy such as “zoo” or “want zoo” or “play zoo”

💜if your child is pushing something away then you would model “no” such as “no” or “mommy no” or “no zoo”

💚if your child is laughing and smiling then you would model their feeling such as “happy” or “Amanda happy” or “Amanda feels happy”

💚and so much more

When modeling language you want to stay away from……

💚saying the word “say” such as “say zoo”, “say thank you” or “say hi”

💜pressuring them to repeat you or say the word Instead when modeling your language you want to…..

💚pause and give them time to repeat or say the word

💜use 1 more word than they are understanding/using. So if they are using 1 words then you want to model using 1-2 words. If they are using 3 words then you want to model using 1 -4 words.

💚have fun

For more tips on modeling keep a watch on our page this week!

If you are having questions or need help with modeling language for your child please DM or email us at amanda@kidspeakdallas.com – we would love to help!

Happy Sunday! ☀️📚 What’s Ms. Manda Reading This Weekend?

💜 This morning, she’s diving back into Early Intervention Games by Barbara Sher—a book we’ve been reading and recommending for over 15 years!

💚 This book is a must-have for families looking to make playtime more engaging and meaningful! We often recommend it when:
✅ Kids have a hard time playing
✅ Parents, grandparents, or sitters struggle with play ideas
✅ Children experience sensory or motor difficulties
✅ Families need fresh play activity ideas
✅ Siblings need help playing together
✅ Playdates need a little extra support—and more!

💜 If you have a toddler, preschooler, or early elementary-aged child, this book is a fantastic resource for encouraging interactive and developmental play!

💚 KidSpeak is accepting new families! If you have questions or need support with your child’s language, speech, play, or emotional regulation skills, DM us or email amanda@kidspeakdallas.com—we’re here to help! 💜💚
