DPT presents North Branch Broncos September Athletes of the Month!

The Lady Broncos golf team is led by senior Mia Swoish. During her match against Imlay City on 9/15 she shot a 44 beating her personal best but also achieving the lowest score North Branch Girls Golf has seen in the past 2 years. Her coach, Bethany Cordle, expresses that Mia is a “student of the game.” She does not waste opportunities in practice to hone her skills. She is exceptional academically and is described as a joy inside and outside the classroom. Keep a look out for more great things to come from Mia!

Aubree Deshetsky, a senior volleyball standout for the Broncos, was recently selected as a finalist for the Michigan Miss volleyball Award which is presented to a senior in the state for having the best high school career. She is currently fourth in the state with 241 kills and fifteenth in the state with 39 aces. She has committed to Indiana Wesleyan University to play volleyball next year. Not only is Aubree a leader on the court, but she is also an active member of her church and a standout in the classroom with a 3.991 GPA. Her coach, Jim Fish, describes Aubree as a “phenomenal person on and off the court. She is a great leader and respected by everyone for her humbleness and servant attitude.” Congratulations, Aubree!

Even if you only get moving on Saturdays and Sundays, you’re still doing your body a big favor. Studies show that weekend-only exercise is far better than no exercise at all—helping reduce stress, improve heart health, and boost energy.

But… going all-in after sitting all week can also set you up for sprains, strains, and aches. That’s where we come in! We’ll help you build resilience, prevent injury, and keep you in the game—whether you’re chasing a ball, hiking a trail, or tackling that yardwork.

Getting the recommended amount of physical activity in one or two days a week may be equally effective at lowering disease risk as exercising throughout the week, new research finds.

Raking, hauling, and bending don’t have to mean back pain! A few smart moves can help you breeze through yard work without feeling sore the next day:

✅Warm up first – 5 minutes of stretching or light walking
✅ Switch sides – alternate hands when raking or lifting
✅ Bend your knees – protect your back by lifting with your legs
✅ Take breaks – short pauses can prevent overuse injuries

If fall chores are leaving you stiff or sore, we're here for you! Call us! We'll help you recover and strengthen so you’re ready for the season.
